All the new kids start on monday, plus we've had some changes since someone retired last month, basically the bit I work in (childcare nursery) has taken on all the staff from the other bit (maintain nursery) in terms of managing them. So we've merged all the children as well, plus some of the old children have made changes to the hours they want, plus all the invoices had to be given out. rofl It's been crazy...

But it's the weekend!!! :3

It's not you, it's her. Mandy reminds her of her own little sister Ava. They never got along and Teagan always felt like a failure as an older sister.

"Blakely?" She asked quietly, and she stood in front of him. She hoped it was him, otherwise she'd feel rather stupid.

"My question for you is simple. Do you view me as your equal, or as a lesser being than yourself?"

"Ah, my little runner..." he replied with an amused smile which did not reach his eyes. Women never stopped trying to hatch their little schemes, using their bodies and words to control you. Blakely would not be controlled, and he would not fall for her game, either.

He decided she would break quickly - he could see she wasn't the usual type of woman, there was something off... but she had all the basic elements - low cunning, manipulative, but also fragile and fearful. Still... it was best to take a strong stance from the start. The girl had been brave enough to wander up to him, and that would not do. The little viper thought she could toy with him. He would correct that assumption for her when next they met alone.

"Why, equal of course." Blakely straightened to his full height, took a quick step to crowd her. Looming above her, his eyes plainly full of menace, Blakely watched carefully for any indication of action. "Equal to the task of lying beneath me when I have needs." He smiled without a trace of mockery in his gaze and continued, "Equal to the task of whelping a few children should I want any. Equal to the task of providing me with a pretty form to vent my frustrations upon... as often as I like..." Lowering his his face to hers as he spoke, someone might have thought looking on that he meant to kiss her - but if that was true it would be no kiss any woman ever wished for. "Yes, of course, you are equal. To staying in your place, quiet and pretty, but useless for the most part.... does that answer your question?"

Teagan's face turned a dark red, as rage built up underneath her skin. This was NOT the answer she expected. It was one thing for him to dismiss her straight out, but to use such a vile sarcastic method of humiliating her was unacceptable. For a moment, her hand slowly reached for the dagger hidden at her side. But she decided against it.

Not here.

"I don't think that was completely necessary..." she said sternly, trying not to foam at the mouth. She looked up at him. She hated to admit that Blakely looked like the exact person she'd naturally be attracted to, minus the attitude of course. She hated that he'd lowered his face so close. This was not really the best time to be toying with her emotions.

She decided she would stand strong and stubbornly lean closer to him as well, her eyes narrowed. "...But I appreciate your honesty." She finished, not breaking eye contact or blinking.

He looked at Teagan, who was very obviously now suspiciously physically close to Blakely. Talk about looking for love in all the wrong places.

"True love is a very subjective term, but let's go with that since my mother's been dead since I was ten. Besides, the living person who I'd call my 'true love' proved very useful when saving my life because she wasn't dead."

After cursing Blakely under her breath, Teagan walked to the opposite side of the dark room. She glanced at the vat in the middle again. It was so...mesmerizing. Then she noticed someone she'd not seen before. A woman, well dressed, keeping mostly to herself. Teagan needed to vent her frustrations out. Perhaps asking a question would help calm her down.

"Excuse me..." she said, with a hint of annoyance still in her voice. "I have a question for you.
Have you ever wanted to kill someone so desperately, but couldn't because if you did, you couldn't wish for their death anymore?" She turned and glared back in Blakely's direction, before returning her attention to the woman she addressed.

While Sadye appreciated Nathanyal's enthusiasm about the joys of Serendipity, there was just one problem that no amount of comforting, people, places, or socks could fix. It wasn't home. Still, Sadye could sort out her jumbled thoughts and feelings when she was safe and alone, now while she was sitting at a table with stranger (a nice, helpful stranger, but a stranger nonetheless) was not the time. "I s'pose you're right, maybe I will find my niche here," she said aloud with a little smile, but in her head she was thinking that niche would end up being her boxed and counting worms the way her relations with the factions were going thus far.

She took the choker back and clasped it into place around her neck as he handed it to her, but as he complimented her horns (or at least tried his hardest to) she couldn't help but chuckle a bit. "Thanks, cutter. And I appreciate the sentiment. People tell me my horns are my best feature," she said with a grin and a wink. "Problem is, not every place is as open and invitin' to all as here. Sometimes looking like a fiend-child is just plain bad for your health."

She paused for a moment to touch the pendant. She could feel the magic sitting there, waiting to be called on, and she gave a sigh of relief. "This will help me out a tonne though, thanks. Anything I can offer in return, cutter?"

"Ah, I see. I'm Devaena," she replied once she realised what the young cat girl was asking for. "And you are Miehrru I assume? That is your name or your people?" she asked as she set to finishing the last of her meal while giving her a chance to reply. She would have plenty of time to ask about the rest, but one thing at a time for now.
