So I've got this rare movement disorder, right? And that means I have about one fit a day, looks kinda like a seizure. Except this past week, since Monday, I haven't had fits. And that's not a good thing because it means whatever is going wrong inside my head is just building. I'm scared I'm going to have one really massive fit that'll land me in the ER and until I have one, I just feel like there's this insane amount tension inside me that I can't do anything about. I can't stop moving, I spend my day at work just rocking in place because of it. It makes it really hard to focus.

Ah, that must be tough. At least, I hope you've position yourself in a place where it's safe to have a fit and made sure someone nearby you knows, I guess. No one wants extra emotional stress over physical stress, ahah. biggrin ;

I don't really bother letting anyone know. I have 'em every day, there's not much point. I just lay down, have a fit, and move on with my life.

No, they're not panic attacks. They kind of feel like one before the fit starts but that's more a warning sign than the actual fit. It looks like a seizure. It often gets mistaken for one. Every now and then some well-meaning bystander calls 911. It's terribly embarrassing cause then I gotta explain, everyone is staring, and then I gotta fill out a refusal of treatment form... it's called paroxysmal non-kinesigenic dyskinesia if you feel like googling it. There's not much info out there. wemove.org is about the best resource right now.

Favorite character? Isn't that like having a favorite child? I didn't think it was allowed xd

I guess I could talk about a character I write frequently... Lurp's already getting enough attention in this thread (and too much attention makes her uncomfortable anyway) so I will go with Lyris. Lyris came about because a friend asked me if I would like to RP an assisstant to her necromancer. I had some other characters I was playing at the time which were really draining me because I cared so much about them (if that makes sense). I figured this one would just be a throwaway character and give me some relief from the drama of the others. LOL (hint: Lurp started out as a 'throwaway' too. I should know myself better by now.)

Anyway, her initial appearance took cues from a couple anime I had just been watching but her personality came, albeit slowly, on its own and combined with a fragment of a character I had written for a friend's unfinished story. Her background filled itself in, stealing from an old story idea I had about camp followers. So she's a fusion of a lot of earlier influences and ideas. Of course became the character I was most involved with by the end of things -_-

Awww man, that sounds just awful. I hope things ease up/get better somehow! If you haven't already, maybe it would be a good idea to talk to your doctor about it? (The slow buildup I mean, not the condition itself).

I will pass on your praise! Glass is mah bestfriend. We used to RP everyday back in the day, but now she's really busy with her comic and I am really busy with teaching, and the storyline we were RP-ing wrapped up anyway so...

I miss RPing with her a LOT. Though she would deny it, I think she's an excellent writer as well as artist, and she kept things fun and interesting.

Eh, I love my doctors and all (seriously, my doctor is fantastic - last paramedic I met studied under him and we were geeking out over how cool this guy is) but they've told me they've exhausted the meds they can try. I see them twice a year, I just bring up any concerns about stuff then. (as well as watch the poor med students they send in first struggle to figure out what the hell it is I've got)

I'm never embarrassed around them because they are the most horrible, inappropriate people and it makes me laugh so hard I can hardly breath. But when they're not around it's actually very hard to laugh it off. People are scared to laugh with you.
