Was this one of those situations where she was supposed to refuse or accept? Would it offend Teagan if Lurp didn't take her offer? Didn't she need to offer something in exchange if she did take it. Lurp couldn't swim social waters. Couldn't even dog paddle.
"Yes, I've been sick. It's a little better now, but I still have a ways to go."
She doesn't want to hear any of this. "Er... thank you." She decides on the drink. "That is kind of you. I'll see if I can catch that b*****d's attention. I need something to eat." She stands again at the bar, leaning, and gesturing to Mack, who's made the mistake of a skittish glance in her direction.
She sits back down next to Teagan, and as she searches for something to say, a thought occurs to her. "We should do something... a memorial or... or something." she finishes lamely. It wasn't right for the world to just be moving on when Rivek was dead.
He's not dead!
But they don't know that.
