I don't think so. I don't remember ever winning anything. I've just been working. Working on my computer from home so I do kind of get on here every now and then, this time I just completely missed the announcement. But I'm still kind of around. I just never say anything. sweatdrop

| Miehrru Pouncing Phantom |

Dead-bird-man had gone off again and Miehrru still hadn’t had the chance to ask if he knew where her things were. As she scanned the room for something to keep her occupied while she waited for him to return she caught sight of a basket full of brightly colored yarn. All the colors looked so fun and she wondered if the yarn was soft or course and what it was all being used for and... Lost in her curiosity about the yarn she hadn’t noticed that there was a person attending the yarn and she excitedly picked up a variegated green-blue-purple skein and began unraveling it, entranced by the changing colors as they slipped through her fingers.

Jen! Can we put a hold on this for the moment? sad I really want to RP with Meihrru but I've got three characters doing different things (Lav is about to meet Teagan) and I'm about to start helping with Round Three which might end up taking up a lot of my time (depending on how it goes).

Hopefully we could do this when I'm freed up a little. :3 heart

Sadye was looking slightly trapped, even though she was trying to put her best face forward. After all, Jeni had been nice enough, she should give her friend a little benefit of doubt right? "I...err...thanks, cutter..Lias?" She almost opened her mouth to say 'It's really not what you think though. I'm just a simple tanar'ling', but the prospect of a business transaction closed her mouth. Well she did need some money, could she turn this to her favor?

If she relaxed it was only a hair, but there was a spark of interest as she asked, "So...uh... what kinda business are we talkin', cutter?"

"Your speech is quite charming," Lias said, knowing full well that if anyone with less magic spoke that way he'd have found it irritating beyond belief.

"Business of power, my dear," he replied. "I have plans to...make some changes...to this place, and I'm offering you the chance to be a part of it from the start." He couldn't help leaning closer to her, further into the intoxicating aura of the magic that pulsed from her, thinking of a way to word his position. Unfortunatly subtly in social skills was not a strength of his but, luckily, Jeni by his side was far more adept.

"Where Lias comes from, he was a...leader, of sorts, an inspiration," she explained, carefully choosing each word. "He has much knowledge he could bring to this world if only he has a chance...but even someone such as he can't do it alone..."

"Exactly my words," Lias cooed at Jeni, shooting her a sharply triumphant smile. "So will you consider joining me, Sadye?"

The day passed quickly for Laveris, lost in her thoughts until a hunger set in that disturbed her from them. She wandered a little, finding somewhere to buy something that looked exciting and unusual; she took a bite and then tossed it into the nearest bin. Damn cusine differences.

The dark began to draw in, although it was only late in the afternoon, before she had found anywhere else. She awarded herself some amount of pride at having stayed out of 'trouble' for the whole day, apart from being ridiculously hungry. She could have returned to Garlands or the Dead Man's Meet, she supposed, but she couldn't remember the directions; the only way she'd know where Blakely's residence was if she tried to find her way back was due to it being a tower, but she wasn't going there now, she wanted to have some fun first.

"Hey, you," she stopped a woman at random. "You look like you know your way around this crazy maze - where's a good place to find some fun?"

Teagan had moved toward a group of gamblers in the alley, leaving Ja'tel within sight, but far enough that she'd need to shout to catch his attention. They were playing some sort of dice game again. It was fascinating, and frustrating that the men never allowed Teagan to approach much closer. Did she really count as a woman to be shooed away from their games?

In the middle of her silent cursing at them, a strange voice from behind startled her. She turned to see a taller, striking woman standing only feet from her.

"Pardon?" she said at first, wondering if the woman had actually addressed her. Continued eye contact confirmed it. "Oh. Fun? I'm not...an expert on that, I'm afraid. I would be, if these damned men would let me watch them gamble, and god forbid, participate." She turned to glare at the crowd for a moment, but as always they ignored her.

Teagan took a step towards the woman, raising an eyebrow. She thinks I look like I know my way around. Is that her subtle way of calling me a whore?

"What sort of fun were you looking for anyway?" she asked with a slight frown.

Laveris tilted her head at the darked haired and dark eyed humanoid woman, rather cute in a plain kind of way. Still she liked the hauty look about her that she rather liked.

"What kind of fun?" she echoed thoughtfully with a grin. "Well I'm not talking about stamp collecting if you know what I mean. I'm thinking more along the lines of - what is that little human phrase? - wine, women and song. Oh and food would be preferable."

She took a moment to glance over the woman's shoulder, at the gambling men, then back at Teagan.

"You want to play?" she asked, her expression taking on a wry and wicked expression. "I'll show you what to do." She coughed and spoke in a raised voice.

"What a shame they won't you can't play, huh? I love to play but you know, it's funny, but like you, my friend, I'm not very good at it.." The men glanced up, their desire to win coin apparently outweighting any other concerns they might have. Not that Laveris would understand any gender divide even if it was expressed at her.

"Of course, if you prefer," she continued again more quietly at Teagan, rather amused now. "I'll just buy you a drink. I really am not very good at gambling with dice."

Sorry if I've offended you. :/ But I explained why I can't add another senario right now, when I'm free I'd be happy to pick it up, if you're interested. There was really no need to be so rude to me with that post.

Of course, they pay attention to her. Brutes.

"On second thought, I'd rather not waste my time trying to prove myself with these idiots..." she grumbled quietly. "A drink sounds good right about now. I'm afraid I'm only familiar with two eateries near here, Garland's and Dead Man's. I would rather not go to either." Truthfully, she had good reason to avoid both places, especially Dead Man's.

Teagan looked back at Ja'tel, who was still talking to the band. He'll be fine for a few minutes on his own I think... Her eyes searched the area- she'd passed a food stand earlier. Perhaps they sold alcohol as well.

"I think a little ways behind you, there's a stand selling hot foods and drink..." she offered. "Let's hope there's decent drink." Why am I being so agreeable with her? I don't even know her.

"I didn't catch your name." Teagan added suddenly. "I'm Teagan." She kept her eyes on the woman as she led the way to the stand.

"Dead Man's Meet?" Laveris nodded and chuckled as she fell into step with Teagan, her walk a stride of confidence that didn't match her powerless situation here. "Do you know Feathers then? I mean, Rivek - Feathers is just what I call him."

She looked over the menu for the little stand, pulling up a stool at the long outdoor bar, checking the coin in her pocket against the listed currency; apparently it was plenty. Trust Blakely to be rich in this place! Exchanging enough coin with the owner to buy herself a strange cocktail and something that at least appeared to be vaigly familiar to her, although she was intregued by some bags that where hung on the wall that contained something pink and very soft looking but was, apparently, food.

"Teagan," she replied, looking at her sideways with a grin across her lips. "You may call me Laveris. As for decent drink we'll soon find out."

There was a sudden warning that flashed in her mind, the moment she heard Rivek's name. Teagan prayed that her eyes didn't betray her and show the surprise from hearing it.

"It sounds...familiar actually, but no, I keep to myself when I'm there." she partly lied, taking a seat besides the woman. "A pleasure to meet you Laveris." That smile is not helping my impression of you.

She glanced at the menu as well, and ordered a basket of roasted chicken wings, and a double shot of gin. She salivated at the smell of the chicken, but it would be a few minutes before she'd get to taste. The gin on the other hand, came immediately, and likewise was consumed.

"So tell me..." Teagan started, glancing over at her once in a while. "How did you get those men to listen to you? I mean, even to acknowledge your presence? I'm completely invisible to them." She frowned, realizing she was already taking the submissive role in this acquaintanceship.
