alice possesses soft, pure blonde hair that falls down to the middle of her back. her hair is wavy and usually split down the middle. like her mother, she has thick eyebrows and blue-apatite eyes. her face shape is a faint mixture of square and round, making her appear several years younger than she actually is. alice has a slim, athletic build and is on the leaner side of the spectrum. on the nape of her neck is a small barcode tattoo which means 'family' when scanned. on her right shoulder is a teardrop-like burn mark.

— SYMPATHETIC ❙❚ alice is very good at understanding people's emotions and feeling pity and sorrow for someone else's misfortune.
— GULLIBLE ❙❚ lies have never been alice's strong suite. as a result, she is easily persuaded to believe information about things that she has limited knowledge of or is oblivious to.

❙❚ HISTORY —
since infancy, alice was raised in an orphanage located outside of academia, living there was absolute hell. the staff didn't care about the children, they didn't care for the condition and sanitation of the building, heck, they didn't even care about their salary! if they cared for anything, it was the control that they had over the lives of the kids—control and power. she despised that place, and yet, that hell of a hole was home to her. perhaps this was due to the many friends she had made, the infinite number of precious memories, and perhaps just simply because she had been raised there, and that was all she knew. so, yes, it was home, no matter the circumstances. it was her only home.

due to the neglect from the staff members, it was no surprise that every child at the orphanage got sick at one point in time or another. hence so, from a young age, alice had begun practicing in first aid and medicine. from cleaning minor cuts to stitching up wounds, she did just about everything a doctor would do to help their patient. she was like a star in the darkness for the other children there. she was a leader in a time of need. truthfully, alice would have most likely continued to live out the rest of her life at the orphanage; being the mentor that the children never had, guiding them, helping them—it seemed like her destiny. however, those plans were long dead now. and had it not been for one uneventful evening, perhaps her life would be completely different than it was today.

fire. the orphanage was alit with flames. because the building of the orphanage was so incredibly old and unattended to, everything seemed to burn easily. that made the time frame to get everyone out seem almost impossible. but, somehow, alice had succeeded in getting everyone out in time. and despite her happiness towards the number of lives she saved, her celebration was short-lived. she quickly learned that nathaniel, her dearest friend, had gone into the building, but he had never returned. without hesitation, she re-embraced the flames. until she found Nathaniel, she would not leave the burning building. she needed to find him. she couldn't even fathom the thought of not finding him. and find him she did, just not the way she had hoped. he was burnt to a crisp but still recognizable. she attempted to save him, but to no avail. when she realized that she could do nothing to bring him back, she wept. and so, on that night, alice not only lost her best friend, her lover, but she also lost herself.

alice didn't stick around the orphanage for long. after seeing everyone else get sent to a different orphanage, or get adopted, she set out on her own path. she was too shameful to ever want to return to face those children whom she had saved. for, how could she call herself their savior if she could not even save the life of the person who mattered the most in her life? eventually, she decided to settle in academia. she had hoped that with time, her wounds would heal. however, that was just a wish that would never come true. The memory would forever be etched into her head, and the fact that she had a burn mark scarred her shoulder only embedded that memory even more.

alice had contemplated suicide many times. she had no family, no friends—she had nothing. but, one day, alkaline came along. and like magic, alice found a new road to take, a new motive to live her life for. and when the explosion happened in 3007, her loyalty to alkaline only solidified. as though inevitably, academia became her new home. and with alkaline's death, she sure as hell knows that she will do her damned best to protect it—to protect alkaline’s last wish, to protect her new-found home—to protect academia.

❙❚ LIKES —
— BOOKS ❙❚ the best leisure activity to alice is reading, and occasionally writing; being able to live a life other than her own through the eyes of a character is just too great an option to pass up on.
— FRUITS ❙❚ alice simply loves fruits. they're healthy and they taste delicious! she can always be found snacking on some type of fruit in her free time.
— RUNNING ❙❚ the one physical activity that alice is willing to do she has very good stamina and endurance, and just plain out enjoys running. she usually goes jogging in the early mornings around apple valley.

❙❚ DISLIKES —
— DISORGANIZATION ❙❚ especially when it comes down to her own belongings, alice has zero tolerance for untidiness and unordered things.
— SPICY FOOD ❙❚ it's no secret that alice's tolerance for spicy food is zero as well. she despises having to eat anything even remotely spicy, and unless she is forced to, will never volunteeringly have her go at it.
— LARGE FIRES ❙❚ it's only expected that alice dislikes fires. though she definitely is not fearful of fires in general, they can make her anxious and uneasy when they become too big.

❙❚ STRENGTHS —
— FIRST AID ❙❚ the thing every doctor has to master is first aid treatments. of course, that is no struggle to alice. she is usually the first one asked for when emergency situations arise.
— COMPREHENSION ❙❚ being able to understand people and situations is probably one of alice's strong suites. she is usually able to pick up things within the first or second time information is being relayed.

❙❚ WEAKNESSES —
— PRIDEFUL ❙❚ it is sometimes difficult for alice to admit to her wrongs. even though she may know her error and may accept it within herself, sincerely apologizing aloud regarding her mistakes is not something that she does easily or often.
— INSECURE ❙❚ although alice knows that she is more than average looking and has excellent skills in the medical field, she always feels that she is not good enough. she can't help but to notice her flaws over her perks, and she reflects on those flaws more often than not.

❙❚ FEARS —
— DEATH OF PATIENTS ❙❚ alice doesn't fear her own death. she knows that everyone dies, and that she, too, will one day pass. but, what she is most fearful of is causing someone to die—being unable to keep someone from death when they are right in her grasps to save them.

❙❚ AMBITIONS —
— PROTECT ACADEMIA ❙❚ alkaline was the one who led alice to the light. as cliché as that sounds, it's the whole truth to her situation. hence so, in order to to fulfil alkaline's last wish to take care of academia, alice will do anything to serve and protect academia and its civilians.

my childhood friend! i adore this punk. he's older than me by three years, but it certainly feels as though i'm the older one sometimes. in truth, he reminds me a lot of my old family. well, "family" anyway. kids are all family when they're orphaned...

i met him in the first year that i came to academia. i had been staying with alkaline then, and was on my way home from an errand when i saw him. perhaps i approached him because he seemed pitiful—he seemed like me. lost, uncertain, on the verge of death... i guess i'm just attracted to people like that. people who are like me. in any case, he ended up staying with me and alkaline for a while. from then on out, we've pretty much been at each other's sides. i think the whole thing with alkaline in 3007 definitely solidified our relationship and resolve as well. but maybe that's just me assuming things.

what i know for a fact is that if he ever needs my help, i will come running to him without hesitation.

i also worry about her falling in love. sometimes it goes well, and other times... well, not so much. maybe i'm just biased, but i can't help but to criticize eden when she talks about her love-at-first-sight. i think i'm just scared that the same thing might happen to her that happened to me. and i know i shouldn't be, because she is a brave, brave kid. it's just that... i just can't help but to be cautious for her.

life is unexpected, and you have to safeguard yourself in order to survive.

❙❚ BLURB —
xenon's leader, kaira. she's, well, she's pretty damn intimidating. i can't even attempt to sugarcoat it. you get one of her stares and it's like you've been stabbed in the gut by her. she really scares me now.

she used to stop by the clinic for some help with her hangovers back when hope still existed. i never got to know her much, but i recall seeing her seem entirely devastated by the whole thing with the explosion, and with xenon's banishment as well. i mean, that sort of response was only natural though. i felt like that too when i found out what happened to alkaline...

in any case, ever since the split into alkaline and xenon, she seems to avoid me completely. i guess it's understandable—me being affiliated with alkaline and all. i wonder if we'll ever be able to become friends in the future. that's not something completely impossible to hope for, right?

i can't help but to keep thinking back to my younger years at the orphanage whenever i see thirty-four. the scars that mark his body only tell so much about what he's been through. he's like a lost and abandoned child who needs mentoring, and i can't help but feel the desire to want to help him—to guide him.

i often times find myself ranting on about things to him. he's more on the quiet side, so i sometimes wonder if he hates me for talking so much. but then, what if he enjoys the company that i bring? ah, i don't know. in any case, i definitely feel like myself when i'm around him. i think i like that about him most.
