mmm. Whenever they serve fish in my cafeteria, I grab some buns from the grill and make myself a fish sandwich, complete with tartar sauce.
That sounds quite tasty.

We need a shrimp cocktail recipe, too.

Ok, I'm off to work on my restaurant ramen recipe.
Flemish Pancakes

Catagory: Breakfast Foods
Difficulty: stressed (only if you're impatient like me)

This saved my life plenty of times when I was hungry, but there was lack of food in my apartment.

1 large egg
1 cup milk
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon sugar
1/8 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons melted butter
Oil, for Pan

Materials Required: Stove top, skillet and/or griddle. Spatula, an appetite.

Preheat a Swedish pancake pan (or any skillet, really. IT doesn't matter) over medium heat.
Beat the egg and milk in a small bowl.

In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and salt. Add the milk mixture, stirring to make a thin batter, being careful not to overmix. Fold in the melted butter.

Grease each round cup in the pan with oil. Pour about 2 tablespoons of batter into each of the greased cups and cook until bubbles form on the top, about 1 minute. Turn with a spatula and cook on the second side until golden, about 1 minute. Remove from the pan and repeat with the remaining batter

Top with Nutella, jam, or preserves. Sour Cream and cheese works well too. I like to make mine with peanut butter and jelly and use it as a snack in between meals. it's tasty.

uh, here's one from alton brown's book "I'm just here for the food" relatively easy, he says he made it in college. i made it last week without much incident, save a still frozen block of spinach. it's a decent breakfast, so long as you remember to put the green in the fridge the night before.

He calls it Get Breakfast but I call it Runny Eggs over Potatoes

Appliances: broiler (most ovens double as one)

hardware: skillet, bowl, oven mits, prefferably heavy duty.

ingredients:
1 bag ore-ida frozen hash browns
7 ounces frozen spinach, thawed
6 eggs
1/2 cup mozerella cheese
salsa
chili flakes

put hash browns in water to thaw. go back to bed. get up 3 minutes later and dry potatoes (if you're without a salad spinner, a healthy amount of paper towels works fine). turn broiler on and heat skillet (he noted that his oven had the rack stuck right below the broiler, so repositioning the rack might be an idea) mix hash browns, spinach and two eggs in a bowl. when the pan is warm, spread potato mixture on the pan, making sure to push it into all the corners, and not burn yourself. pour salsa on top. cook under the broiler until tomatoes just start to brown, about 12-15 minutes. pull out the skillet, sprinkle a handful of cheese over the pan, crack the rest of the eggs over the whole thing and put back under the broiler until the egg whites just set, about 4-5 minutes. remove from the oven, sprinkle with chili flakes, eat out of the pan.

he suggests flat beer to go with it, and i suggest mixing some more cheese in with the potatoes before cooking, though i haven't yet tried it myself. also tastes good sans salsa or chili, but a bit bland.

Pseudo Restaurant Style Ramen
Appliances Needed: Stove or Microwave

Taki's Level of Difficulty for the Average College Student: stressed

1 package of Ramen (use LESS THAN HALF of the flavor packet)
1 can reduced sodium chicken broth (or beef broth, or vegetable broth)
frozen peas and carrots
frozen broccoli florets
frozen cabbage (if available)
frozen cooked grilled chicken or beef (small slices so it thaws easily) or
leftover chicken from last night's cafeteria dinner
1 egg
Lime slice

Hardboil your egg. Remove the shell and slice it vertically.
Boil your ramen in the chicken broth. Add your frozen goodies. Heat until everything is thawed. Add your egg slices.
Squirt with lime and enjoy.
Man, I love Nutella.
I also love Alton Brown.

I wonder if an Alton Brown fan thread would be within the forum rules.

Who doesn't love Nutella?

I remember living in Germany that's all I would eat. Granted, I was like...4.

Peanut butter has never really been the same.

Your right. Everyone whose had it loves it.

I first had it in German class.
So I'm trying out that mushroom soup right now. It smells awesome as I'm cooking it! (thank god for the computer room doubling as the kitchen in my overcramped loft)

I like it over toast. I'm certain if you give me a few days I can come up with an original nutella recipe.

It's my favorite soup in the whole world.

And it only has like 58 calories.

Damn good burger

2 lbs. ground beef
2 Eggs
Bread crumbs
White onion (one half)
2 tablespoons black pepper

1. Cut onion in half and dice into small pieces.

2. Mix with eggs, bread crumbs, ground beef, and pepper.

3. Roll ground beef and flatten into patties (don't be a wimp, use your hands)

4. Put into frying pan (for "well done" cook for five minutes on each side). Kids, remember the spatter guard ^_~

*This also goes great as meatballs in your spaghetti*

Awesome.

I should try to make a friend egg over toast recipe.
My friend made that for me once, it was so tasty.
That burger sounds good!
