The art world is always changing, ever evolving, people's perception changes with the times so avant-garde idealists will always try to stay a cut above the rest.. sometimes it works and sometimes it backfires spectactularly.. also, I have a terrible fever and haven't been able to sleep well thanks to this nagging cough sad

The LAMCA (los angeles museum of contemporary art) paid millions of dollars... for a rock. a rock. IT wasn't even carved in any way shape or form, It was just a stupid rock!!
This is why I hate contemporary art, classical art took effort, skill, real incite into what a true expression of the human soul is.

Then you have stuff like this... But what do *we* know about what is art and what isnt? we're not "artists"... we didn't sell a painting for millions of dollars.. we didn't spend years learning the craft.. Does that trivialize our perception about the world of expression? NO! I don't care to see what a pierced, vegetarian goatee sporting hipster sculpted in a vain attempt at expressing his daddy issues. Things really took a turn for the worst when life was made easier through the science of automation... confused

ah, yes.. I love art in all its forms, except for modern expressionist art.. the kind thats not really art but pretends to be and newagy hipsters eat it up like pigs on a trough.

I only got the cheap stuff from the hobby store, can't be bothered getting oils or fancy brushes made from badger hair or whatever just yet, haha.. It's like buying an expensive camera set when you really just wanna take selfies biggrin

But if I get good then who knows?

Paints can be pretty expensive, you could get kits if you're serious but I'm just gonna start collecting a range of acrylics and some canvases for now.. whee

Painting is so easy, you find something pretty and grab some colours and a paint brush and it pretty much paints itself. whee
