He's definitely an older author, yeah. I don't know what it was like in other places, but here he never really got any reputation, and growing up I got the impression that R L Stine was the preferred one when it came to horror, even though he was more for kids and Pike did YA. I think most of the authors that impacted me deeply aren't ones that really get talked about.
I don't remember the ones you've mentioned - that doesn't mean I didn't read them, but I don't think I did? I didn't have access to the entire body of his work. Most of the ones I read about are completely foreign to me.
I bought Monster, recently, which I did read; a lot of it was familiar. In the latest batch I got The Listeners (I think the one I'm looking for), Scavenger Hunt, and Road To Nowhere (both of which are foreign.)
But yeah, it's probably a generational thing. You can still get Goosebumps fairly easily, but it's been an absolute pain in the a** trying to find Pike. A lot of them are just straight up out of print from what I can tell.
