Hey, Captain! I finally got to see Dark Shadows. I have to say that despite the negative criticism I've been hearing I quite enjoyed the film. Unfortunately, I have yet to see Frankenweenie.

I know its like that old thread the ED had about "everyone hates Superman" and its fairly true and its only because of all the misconception and how non-comic media has affected people. Then again even within the comic fandom people still just don't get it and really the sad thing is BOTH Superman and Batman are hurt by this as Batman does pretty much become a "sue" type being able to overcome everything. Which is so not how that character should work.

That's one of the reasons I wanted to see it. I'm not too familiar with the original Dark Shadows, but I really wanted to see a vampire on the big screen that wasn't the teen hearthrob type we've been getting for a while. I think it had the chance to make a lot more money than it did had it not come out after The Avengers.

Ugh, no. sad I didn't get to see it, and I was so mad at myself that I didn't get to see it while it was still in theaters. Hopefully I'll be able to get a blu ray or DVD copy.

I think it's ironic that Disney had fired him for the original short, and now they're backing a remake. I really hope I get to see it this weekend.

Hey! I just saw your comments on Frankenweenie, and I just wanted to say that it's good to see someone who is at least knowledgeable in the background of the remake. A lot of people don't realize that Alice in Wonderland was made under the condition that Disney would back him on a remake of Frankenweenie.

I love your sig. I grew up on Dark Shadows. It was aired on the SciFi channel years ago. It' so strange that Jonathan Frid died so close to the new movie's release. I'm glad he was asked to make an appearance in it. RIP Barnabas Collins heart

The problem is Superman is kinda needed for them to be brought to the mainstream and be given a real audience.
