My birthday was on Friday. Sweet 16, yay! I passed the written on my second try, and was unable to do my drive due to a stupid brake light. crying I will have to wait til Friday (Dec cool to get it. How depressing.
Anyway, my birthday was awesome. Nothing too exciting happened at school. When I got home I got to open presents. 4 cds...2 from my brother, 2 from my mom. One of them, however, was OPENED and inside were concert tickets to see Craig Morgan in concert this week (Tues. 5th) so I was WAY happy! I wanted to go so bad, but my mom fooled me into thinking she'd forgotten. How rude. Lol...She was the second person in line to get a raffle ticket, and 3 hours later, she was the second-to-last person called as a winner. WHAT LUCK! Then me and my twin brother also got Guitar Hero for PS2, which is pretty damn cool. I love it!!
Me and a bunch of friends went to the movies, got ice cream, then came back and had pizza, more ice cream and cake, played pool and guitar hero on the big screen all night. It was lots of fun!!! I loved it. I have the best friends in the world <3 <3.
Today after all but one had left, we drove out to Washington Square in Oregon (don't get that...) and shopped for several hours, then went to the barn to play with the horses, then she went home, and I came back home...and now I am waiting for her to come back over so we can play Guitar Hero all night again. Then we have a 4-H christmas party tomorrow...So it'll be fun. biggrin

Cancer is such a scary word. There is just somthing about it, that makes me flinch. Especially when you are used in the same sentance as the word. Then, it's like a nightmare. No, I don't have cancer, but the thing that they removed from my forehead (known as a birth mole) had some kind of tissue in it that could one day turn into skin cancer. I'm not a cancer expert, by any means. I know little about it. But the way he said it, it sounded like it wouldn't be too bad of a cancer. It would be skin cancer, but it wouldn't be Melinoma. It would be something where you just have to cut and get all the tissue out. So my opitions were to do it no (get the surgery done) before any cancer develops, or just wait and see what happens. I just can't imagine cutting into my FOREHEAD. Plus, he said out of about 100 kids in my situation, probably only 10-20 would actually develop cancer.
So yeah...Great day. Now I have to clean my room. >.<

So fair is over. Thank god. It was amazing, but it is always such a relief to get it over with! biggrin On Thrusday we had to do something called groomsquad where we have 30 minutes to groom a horse, and someone on the team (of 3) has to take a test, and someone has to do showmanship. We used my horse, becasue she was the only one in my group that could do showmanship. On Friday we had to do horse judging, horse bowl, and hippology. Horse Judging is basicaly where you judge 4 different classes with 4 horses in each class. You get scored on how close you come to the actual judges placing. You have to do oral reasons in front o the judge for one class and written reasons on one class. Hippology is basically a HUGE test. Horse bowl is like jeopardy, where a group o 6 people sit out with buzzers and the first one to buzz in gets to answer the question and if you get it right you get a point, but if you get it wrong, you get a point taken away from you. then, on Monday we had our show day. Showmanship, english, western, and trail. I'm not going to go over what those are...Bt if you get a high blue in a riding class, then you are put in a championship class with a pattern, then placed.
So my placings were: Groomsqaud- Blue Horse Bowl- Blue Horse Judging- Red Hippology- Red Educational Poster- Blue Showmanship- Blue English- High Blue/3rd Western- High Blue/No Placing Trail- Blue
So that was awsome for my second year! Great, actually. I'd never made it into the high blue championship class before and I made it into two this year! It was great! I am so happy! Oh, and we made the Clark County State team again this year! Slot 16 out of 20. Not bad for my second year...and my first year with the big fishies (seniors).
Wish me luck at the Washington State Fair in Puyallup, WA September 13th-16th!

So I awoke today...First thing I did was check my phone, of course. Very important. biggrin So I had some texts, so I replied, then I saw that I had a missed call, so I was like, "Oh, how did that happen...Hum..." Then I called to listen to the message.
The extent of the message was that a horse in my 4-h group, owned by the sweetest, shyest girl, had to be put down last night. It coliced severely and it's eyes were swollen and...Well, not a good sight. Finally, they decided they couldn't save him, and even if they could, he'd be in too much pain, so they put him down.
I was really sad. A week before fair...You guys don't even know what a huge part of our lives these horses are. They aren't just pets, or even friends. You build such great bonds of trust and love with these animals. I would be devastated if anything ever happened to my Sara. And it's really scary. Colic is not uncommon, and if you aren't there when a horse colics, then, well..You have a problem. It's very serious, and sadly can occure with little to no warning.
So I write this in loving memory of Scatter. May he rest in peace, and know that we all loved him, for what a great pony he was for Natalie. And may Natalie find the strength to move on, and hopefully stay with our 4-H group. Scatter lived a good 19 years, and will continue living in the hearts of Natalies family, and even all us girls who got to know them throughout the year.
Mr. Ha, Ha Scatter (a.k.a. Scatter) 1987-2006 This has inspired me to change my educational project for fair. Instead of doing my poster on 'Splint Boots', I am changing my topic to 'Equine Colic' in loving memory of Scatter, and all those lost to Colic.

Today sucked nearly as bad as yesterday. My show sucked, cause Holly kept acting stupid. Reigning was so much fun tho! I had a blast! We placed 3rd, which is pretty darn good for a non-reining horse. Trail sucked. Major.
So the concert last night was fun! And my brother actually liked it....even though he is not a country fan. Martine McBride had a lovely voice. I love her so much. She was the one who got me started on country music with the song "Concrete Angel" She did all kinds of songs from her Timeless CD, which is all songs from like 20 years ago. That was not very exciting, but she did good. Then there was an intermission and she came back on and did all her other songs and did AMAZING. She has such a great voice. I still consider her the person w/ the best voice (which I have for a while) Just of how high she can go, and also how long she can hold those powerful notes. Just amazing. The only thing that made me REALLY mad, was that the Warren Brothers werent there. They were supposed to be the opening act, but...I don't know what happened. I mean, I love Martina, don't get me wrong...But I LOVE the Warren Brothers. A lot of people don't even know who they are, even if they are big country fans. Even if the do, they do not pay much attention to them just because they used to be really heavy partiers and what-not. Oh well, I love their music. I was really disapointed, and I still don't know why they weren't there.

Wow, what a tough week it's been! Absolutly crazy. I've had to wake up around 8 each day to either clean the barn or go to some sort of appointment...Well, I guess I only had one appointment...Hum. Oh well, it's been a LONG friggin week.
So I'll start with the random thing, I guess. So 15 years ago on December 1st, I was born with a tiny red rash looking thing. Momma says it looked like a pac scar, whatever the hell that is. We called it my birth mark...Why not? But then a few years ago it started to raise. Talk about nuisence. So I started picking at it...then one day I was so fed up with it I tried to pull it off myself. Let me go back and say that this was hardly noticable because it was just inside the hairline. Okay, so back with my story...I when and got it chopped off (after being numbed and shaved, so it's not really as bad as I said) It only took a minute, and I didn't feel a thing. Now all that is left is a red circle where the bump had been, which I hope will heal soon. biggrin
Then today I had to wake up at 5 because I had a horse show. THAT was fun, let me tell you. You guys don't even know what we equestrians have to do. All I can say is at least my horse was calm. That's about it...She didn't do that bad, but we didn't place too well. She was kinda fast and as my trainer would say "inconsistant" with her headset. Holly, my new horse was sucky too. I'd never ridden her english, though...but she was really spooky. Took me off gaurd once. We didn't place that well...so I guess my hopes for highpoint are washed. Maybe western tomorrow...We'll see.
So country music is my life...my love...What would I do without it!? But what I love most are country concerts! Oh yes, I do...I didn't really get into them until this last year...But I have a pretty nice concert list. Random, I know...Except for the fact that I have a concert TONIGHT! I am so excited. Here it is

I will start by telling you why I have the name I do. Not my real name. My parents called me Kristi for god only knows why...I mean my username.
The 'Horse' comes from my love for horses. They are my life. I have two mares. Sara (Shez Undun) and Holly (Cajun's Major Star). I've had Sara for two years now, and things are going wonderful. We made it on the State team our first year, and I hope to make it again this year! Holly has been at our barn for a while, but we just recently bought her. She is a gorgeous mover, and very well built period. Sara is too, of course. Holly has the more Quarter Horse look to her, but my baby (Sara) is more stocky, and I just love her to death basically. I am going to show Holly for the first time ever this weekend. I am kind of nervous to see how she will do.
The 'Loper' comes from my the funnest gait that the horse has, in my opinion...the lope. Maybe you haven't heard of it, maybe you have. The term you are more likely to know is canter. They are the exact same thing, just the lope is wester and the canter is english. Now if you cant distinguish the two different styles of riding, look it up on google. Pictures help. I do both. But I love the nice slow western lope.
The '45' also has importance. It's just a number, your thinking. No, it's not. It's very very important to me. Sara, my pride and joy...Well, her registered name is Shez Undun. 4 letters in the first word, 5 in the second, thus making 45. I told you I loved my horse. She is my baby. You do not even know what it is to love an animal like horses. The bonds you form with them are much stronger than those that you build with a man. With a horse it is about trusting one another and learning to work with one another...No matter what. In relationships, yeah, you care for the guy, maybe say you love 'em...and maybe you do. Whose to know? Well, it's hard to explain, but I don't think there is anyway that I could love anything more than I love my horse. Ever.
