I still wonder what his appeal was. I am of the voting age of the people that caused him to be elected, but had nothing to do with getting him in. and now people are already screaming because of some of the plans he has put into motion. Well I have to say that you get what you vote for. The only thing that can be done to put a stop to what people don't like is to get him impeached. but the odds of that are pretty slim.
So now this president is proposing some kind of healthcare reform. This reform he is proposing will cost everyone that has an income, their hard earned money just so that someone that doesn't exactly need medical attention can get some aspirin for a headache or some nasal spray for an allergy, while millions of others die every day because of much more serious problems. Where is the incentive to pay for private insurance when you are already forced to pay for the government controlled one? Well I'll tell you that there will not be any because the people will jump ship on the private stuff which will kill the competition leaving us will just the government plan. Sound familiar? This is called Socialized healthcare. Do you want to have to pay for someone else to visit the doctor just because they fell down and scraped their elbow? Well that is what will occur if this is allowed to go on.
Here's the next question... Where is the money going to come from for all of this? Well Obama has said that he will be getting this money from an increase in taxes and making cutbacks on other government spending. Well the taxes as was discussed earlier is basically a way to force you to pay for someone else health, but what of these cutbacks? Where are these cutbacks going to occur? Well it will likely be Education, transportation, or any number of other programs that are already in place. It could even be Social Security or Welfare. Now What happens when these funds get cut? Well if education is cut, then we will find less educated people coming out of high school. What does this mean to you? Well it means that the next generation will be that much less educated and therefore... that much easier to control and to fool. I have heard a few people say that college is pointless because someone can just jump into a job and earn a whole bunch of money digging ditches for a living. Do you really want to do manual labour for the rest of your life? Well I know I wouldn't. that is why I am going to college. to be able to get a better job with better pay and the job rely more on my knowledge than my ability to lift something.
Now what about transportation? Have you seen those cracks in the road that appear every year after winter or pretty much any time of the year due to thermal expansion? Well the transportation budget pays to repair those roads. Now most of the time the national government's jurisdiction is only the interstate travel and air travel related. So what does it mean when this budget is cut? well the roads will get worse and the air travel will suffer as well.
the Social security and Welfare system to me seem like bad ideas. Welfare was originally intended for people that lose their jobs to be able to get back on their feet, or if they have a family and can't afford the basic needs to help them out with that. It was started back during the great depression as part to keep people moving. So why hasn't it been abolished yet? Because there are people still using it today for various reasons. So once again every tax paying citizen is being forced to pay, just so that someone can have some spending money to use on food or otherwise. Social security on the other hand is a form of government payment for those who are retired. the problem is that there are far more people that don't realize that the social security system is set to keep the people that get to that retirement age just above the poverty line. Therefore those that don't scrimp and save for their entire life end up retiring and needing to get a job to be able to make ends meet. So here is a question for you... why didn't they save their money when they were younger? Because they were fooled into believing that the social security system they paid for when they were young would keep them going long into the future.
So why should we pay into this, because we want to? No... it's because we are forced to... Our forefathers came to America for religious reasons, and fought to liberate this land from Great Britain for political freedom from tyrannical taxation and lack of representation. So jump forward 232 years we are facing the exact same thing of insane taxation and is our collective voices being heard? Only partially... So I leave you with this quote...
General George Santayana
Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it.
If you wish to do something about this, why don't you try writing letters to your senators and representatives describing your distaste for what they are doing. They fear people's rejection because it threatens their job security by losing votes in the next election. If we can stop these things, maybe we can keep history from repeating itself.
