13 Quirky Family Vacation Experiences at Ripley's North American Attractions
ORLANDO, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The diversity of the attractions within the Ripley Entertainment family is amazing, and there's a great deal to see and do this summer from coast to coast. Here's a sampling:

New York City - Robert Ripley is making a triumphant return to the Big Apple on June 21 when the new Ripley's Believe It or Not! Odditorium opens on Times Square! Among the remarkable exhibits will be the largest display of genuine shrunken heads ever - 25! A 3,200 pound meteorite and the baseball uniform of superstar Babe Ruth will be among the unusual collection!

Gatlinburg, Tennessee - "Halloween in July" will be celebrated for the first time at Ripley's Haunted Adventure, July 9-14. Featured are a Midnight with the Monsters sleepover in one of America's most legendary haunted attractions and a visit by Horror film star Sid Haig, who will meet and greet his fans on Friday the 13th and on Saturday the 14th.

San Antonio, Texas - Think Lilliputian as you enter the Guinness World Records Museum, located directly across the street from the historic Alamo! There you will find the "World's Smallest Rideable Bike." The unicycle is 12 inches tall and 10 inches wide, pedal to pedal.

Atlantic City, New Jersey - Have your face immortalized at Ripley's Believe It or Not! On August 22 at 11 a.m. the annual Face Off funny face competition takes place in front of the odditorium on the boardwalk. Make a funny face and if yours is judged the most amusing, you'll win $300 - and have that face displayed forever on the Face Off Wall of Fame!

Panama City Beach, Florida - The sinking ocean liner on Front Beach Road is not what it appears to be! It's actually the amazing home to Florida's newest Ripley's Believe It or Not! With the ship's smoke stacks towering six stories into the sky, the facility features 11,000 square feet of exhibits and a state of the art Ripley's Moving Theater 4-D.

Newport, Oregon - One of the best examples of the legendary Fiji Mermaid - a mid-19th century hoax put forth by P.T. Barnum who claimed the creature was a mummified body that was half mammal and half fish - is on display here at the Ripley's Believe It or Not! Odditorium. Among the other galleries of the odd and unusual is a recreation of the interior of Robert Ripley's private Chinese Junk, the Mon Lei, the only one of its kind in the world.

Hollywood, California - It's totally Hollyweird at Ripley's Believe It or Not! on Hollywood Blvd. Among the irreverent tributes to the stars of the silver screen are a life-size John Wayne made of colorful laundry lint, Laurel and Hardy's bowlers and locks of Elvis's hair!

St. Augustine, Florida - In America's oldest and most haunted city, guests on Ripley's Ghost Train Adventure explore several "active" areas, including Castle Warden, the home of America's oldest Ripley's Believe It or Not! Odditorium. Each guest is loaned a "ghost meter" and given a free disposable camera to record their spine tingling experience. The famous Red Trains (one painted black especially for this tour) will transport guests throughout the 90-minute guided tour.

Williamsburg, Virginia - A spectacular albino lion from Africa, a life-size one-ton gorilla made of nails and railroad spikes and a U.S. flag that was flown on the moon in 1972 can all be found within the 11 exhibit galleries of the country's newest Ripley's Believe It or Not! Odditorium. Don't miss the dress made entirely of guitar picks or the piece of coal from the Titanic!

Grand Prairie, Texas - Three huge, life-size dinosaurs are grazing this summer along I-30 in front of the Ripley's Believe It or Not! and Louis Tussaud's Palace of Wax! There's a 20-foot tall, 32-foot wide, 3.5-ton Tyrannosaurus; a 14-foot tall, 32-foot wide, 4-ton Triceratops; and a 15-foot tall, 32-foot wide, 3-ton Stegosaurus. Made of shiny chrome car bumpers, you can't miss these unique sculptures!

Orlando, Florida - Operating in a building that appears to be disappearing into a sink hole, Ripley's Believe It or Not! Odditorium's star attraction here is a 1907 Silver Ghost Rolls Royce made with 1,016,711 ordinary wooden matchsticks! The 13-foot long, authentically detailed 3/4 scale model, complete with moving engine parts, wheels that turn, and lights that work, took the artist, Reg Pollard 4,609 man-hours, spread over 15 months, to build!

Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin - The daunting Temple of Discovery is the new, highly interactive attraction within Ripley's Believe It or Not! The visitor's quest to discover the rare artifacts in the Ripley collection takes them through secret doors, onto a laser-protected altar and into the middle of an earthquake which reveals many of the clues needed to uncover the well-disguised exhibits.

Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada - Over the border in Niagara Falls the world's only 8-legged buffalo stands proudly in the lobby of Ripley's Believe It or Not! At the top of Clifton Hill, the odditorium is housed in a spectacular, albeit horizontal, tower complete with King Kong clinging onto the toppled building. It's one of the country's best examples of iconic architecture.
