I'm really thinking I'm becoming some jack@%$ rp elitist, just like the people I use to hate here on Gaia.
I was bored earlier, and going through the forums, picking a few at random to look into if it looked vaguely interesting. And more and more often, I'm finding that I don't even get half way through the first post of a person that I think to myself " Stupid >_>" And leave.
Of course, it doesn't seem unreasonable with some. If I find one that the first post is anything like this;
"this is a hihg school for mutents
exampl profile name: s'nar the dark devourer age: 100000000, but looks 14 powers: can shoot dakr energy and eat peoples souls background: he is the son of the lord of hell but he doesnt liketo be evil. now he fights demons and othre evil things "
You get the point. The point is, when i started, I know it wasn't that hard to find a place to RP, and I wasn't much better then the people I bash now. sweatdrop Well, maybe a little better.
Anyways, is it just me? Am I just way to picky? Or are things deteriorating to the point that its really hard to find a decent RP out there?
*Edit* Okay, I have one more thing to bring up. *shivers* I was more desperate and bored, and I made the fatal mistake of looking into the section 'Barton OOC.'
What, the, heck, PEOPLE!?! What is it with so many people and their obsession with using Gaia to satisfy their Domination/Submission fantasies? I know there are those in the other forums, but I bet that at least HALF in that section, based on the titles, are for people looking for 'partners' to do things varying from simple yaoi and yuri (which I admit i find kinda creepy, buts its not AS bad on its own), to things like violent slavery, submission, kidnapping, and all their varitions, with vampires, demons, pirates, sci-fi.... The list goes on, but I feel dirty enough as it is.... *more shivering* Why, Why WHY?!
Urg, I think I'm going to go soak my skin in chemical solvents now.

Canis, Master Necromancer |
|
|
|
|
|
|
For today, I have decided instead of posting DnD, I'm going to do a Char profile of a character I haven't really used in a while.
Oh, and if I find out that anyone stole this, I will hunt them down and break their legs with a rusty spoon. And then their arms with a gnarled stick. So you have been warned.
Canis Mortica (Pronounced Mor-Ti-Ka)
Human, early 20's
Canis is the the most recent born to a long line of well-known necromancers. While this would pose a problem in most places, the land from which he hails practices Necromancy quite commonly. To them, Necromancy is not inherantly Good or Evil. It is merely another set of tool with which to survive in the world. They believe in re-use rather then waste, and their cities are protected, and sometimes even led by those that have died.
Needly to say, living in a place like this has had a great impact on how Canis views the world. Most people would see him as callous and uncaring for life, but in reality he is merely acceptant. Everyone has a time at which they have to pass on. Whether or not the serve further use after this is hardly trivial. Even when using animated corpses for a purpose, he holds a deep reverance for the dead. He respects the spirits that have passed on, and never needlessly mistreats their bodies.
As one would suspect from a life of wielding life-altering magic, Canis looks a little off. He is pale and thin, almost to the point of seeming fragile. But fragile he is not, and he has a tenacious will and drive. He favour loose clothing with long sleeves, and tends to wear thick gloves, for both protection from some of the vile things he must handle, and for another reason...
Long ago, he lost his left arm from just past elbow. The exact details are fuzzy, but whatever it was, it was accidental in nature. Of course, where he lives, losing an arm is hardly permanent. His grandmother, a high-ranking member of his village, attached a replacement; a skeletal graft. The graft operates just like his normal arm would, although it is sometimes a little clumsy due to the poor feeling. It glows a faint purple aura in the right light, but Canis tends to keep it covered. If asked, he says that he doesn't mind having it, or that he thinks its disgusting, just that he doesn't like "explaining it to every overzealous religious fanatic that I comes across."
Thats it for now, but I'm sure I'll come up with more later.

I originally had some quotes put up here. Then I realized that idea sucked. So instead, im going to start posting nerd stuff up here. Yes, indeed, I have fallen to the lowest of Nerdom.... DnD.
For the sake of convinience, i have only included basic equiptment, since theres too many ways to set a character up.
Half-Orc cleric of St Cuthbert, level 10
49 Hp
Armour Class: 10 + 1(dex) + 8(Full plate)
Attacks: Heavy Mace, 1d8+6
Domains: Destruction[+4 to hit, +10 damage, for one attack/day], Strength[+10 strength 1 round/day]
Str 18 Int 10 Dex 12 Wis 16 Con 13 Cha 10
Skills: Concentration 13+1, Knowledge(Religion)
Feats(4): Extra Turning, Domain Spontaneity(Spend a turning attempt to spontaneously cast a domain spell), Weapon Focus(Heavy Mace), Combat Casting
Turn Undead: 7 times/day
Spotaneous Healing, Darkvision
Domain spells 1- Enlarge Person Inflict Light 2- Bull's Strength Shatter 3- Magic vestments Contagion 4- Spell Immunity Inflict Critical 5- Righteous Might Inflict light wounds mass
All i have to say about this is OUCH.
For one round (and im not even going into most of the clerical magic boosts) a day, this char can deal 2d6+29 at +21 to hit. That Righteous Might plus his two domain powers, only. and the righteous might keeps goign afterwards. Im sorry, i really wouldn't want to have to be at the recieving end of that.
And with extra turning and Domain Spontaneity, righteous might is easy to come by
