Incident One: Welcome to Lun

Ow. My head.. it hurts. So does my back... and the rest of my body, too. What's going on? Why's it so dark? ...Oh. My eyes are closed. Uh, I should open them, shouldn't I? Mm...
I opened my eyes slowly, but the blinding sunlight forced me to quickly close them. What the hell was going on?
I felt groggy, but I could tell I was on my back on something, some kind of vegetation, that was soft and springy. There was something large nearby that was casting a shadow over me, but there were gaps where the sunlight shone through. A tree? A warm breeze drifted by and brought the scent of plants, dirt, and feces.
Wait a minute. Feces? If there was someone or something around to have done their business here, at least that meant I wasn't alone. Maybe I could find out where I was, at least. Or get something to eat; I felt like I hadn't eaten since yesterday. Shouldn't Dad have made us lunch yet? Oh, wait, got to stop thinking about food so much, my stomach's growling again... Guess I better get up and head out to get some grub before I jump Dad and interrogate him about why my lunch is late.
As I sat up and opened my eyes again, I noticed a dull throbbing pain from a small bump on the back of my head. When did I get that? ...Never mind, food first.
I looked around. As I'd thought, I was under a tree-- or something that vaguely resembled a tree. It was entirely green and squishy-looking, with no bark and small innumerable dark spots all over it. It didn't have any leaves, either, but fronds that reminded me of seaweed. The way it leaned over and looked like it was sagging brought up an image of a weeping willow in a heavy rainstorm. Since when did such a weird plant-thing exist on Earth? Was it some kind of mutated seaweed/weeping willow hybrid? ...Is it edible? Looks slimy... probably not, then.
Oh! That's right! Food! Got to find some food... Isn't there anyone around here? A city, town, house, car, tourist, anyone? And anyway, where the hell am I?!
I stood up and looked around again. Inches from where my feet had been there was a relatively straight dirt road, wide enough for two cars side-by-side, that seemed to go on forever. There was no sign of anyone around at all, except for that fragrant mud pie across the road that I'd smelled earlier, and several old ruts that might have been made by bicycles or something with smaller wheels than cars. I could see mountains in the distance, as well as more of the strange trees and vegetation, but no animals or people.
I was in No Man's Land with no food or water and not another non-plant living thing in sight, that much was certain. But how did I get here and where's my dad? Is he worried? Does he even know I'm gone yet? Did he call the police? Was I kidnapped? What time is it? What the hell is going on?! And where is some food?!
There was something very weird about this, but first and foremost in my mind: food. So, where was some? Could there be some near those mountains at one end of the road, or could there be food at the other end, even though it looks like it goes on forever? Which way should I go?
