Sad that the first thing in my journal is going to be a rant.
It was brought to my attention that some people feel that if you have X amount of a breedable, more than likely a popular one, that you shouldn't participate in anymore flat sales, raffles, auctions etc. etc.
All I have to say to that is Bullshit.
I have alot of pets. Tons of them. I have multiples of the popular ones like the Talaye, FTC, and kitsu's. And if I see another one that I like in an auction, flat sale or raffle then I'm going to go for it.
Now I'm not an unreasonable person. I generally stick to auctions because the pet is much more customizable or is a special breed. I can probably count on one hand the number of flat sale breedables I have. I tend to leave those to the people that can't compete in the auctions. Hell, I've tried to help people win flat sales because I'm usually fast when it's just a speed one.
Lately the breedables forum has been filling up with newer people to the breedables scene who don't have much gold or may not even know how the shops work really. And while I admire their enthusiasm and their passion they show bad form when they don't win a flat sale or realize that they can't compete in the auctions. And it's not all the newer people doing it, there's been some regulars too.
It's gotten to the point where I'll see a breedable that I want and I'll already have like, 3 of that one. And the first thing that pops into my head is "How many people are going to start to whine because I'm interested."
I shouldn't have to feel that way. I shouldn't have to feel guilty because I can afford multi-popular pets. I worked hard for my gold and items just like everyone else. No one should put a guilt trip on anyone who wants a certain breedable.
I give away breedings to people I feel deserve them. I co-own with friends on pets that they want but don't have yet or can't afford. I buy raffle tickets and event breedables for people who I know really deserve the pet. Need gold for a guild? No problem I'll help you out. I'm not a greedy b***h. I love helping out people who are really passionate about getting that one breedable that they really want AND who show courtesy even when they don't win the flat sales or auctions. People that can be big when they don't win stand out to me. I'm glad when I can help them out.
I think I've gotten this out of my system. Next time before you accuse a person of having too many of the popular pets when they're going for another one wether it be in a flat sale, auction or raffle, think before you post about it. Or if it bothers you that much PM them and have an intelligent conversation with them about it, instead of dragging it out into the thread about how unfair it is.
Lyth made this banner and it expresses how I feel perfectly.
