If denial ain't just a river in Egypt...
_____This school year I have been taking an A.P. Environmental Science course as part of my schedule. To be honest, at first, I thought the class was cool but never really applied what I had learned. However, after reading/watching An Inconvenient Truth by Al Gore, along with some research of my own, I've really started to truly pay attention to what I've been learning. So many of the facts placed along with this study are astounding and could confound almost any person. In order to explain this, I'm going to start compiling a few points of interest I've learned through my studies. Please note, this will be made through many edits and editions and will probably be ongoing for a while.
_____Before I start, all of the following "tidbits" are scientifically tested and any projections are made by leading scientists; however, I probably will not cite any of this information, mainly because A) This is just a journal, not an essay and B) There probably won't be that many people that read this anyway crying . Although, I hope that the few people that do read this please take some of this information to heart, every person counts and this information must be spread for we are at a pinnacle time in history.
_____Also, before anyone should read any further, I must address the current controversy surrounding Al Gore. For any of you that do not know what I am talking about, after Mr. Gore won an Oscar for his film, An Inconvenient Truth an article was printed on how, even though "preaching" about lowering energy use, has an electric bill 20 times the American national average. However, what many people do not understand is that their household is powered by green sources, such as wind or solar, and, since there are few sources of this type of electricity, transportation of the power causes the prices to be higher. In addition, for any carbon dioxide his home creates, his buys carbon offsets, the promise to reduce greenhouse gases by the same amount your behavior increases them, which costs him $1247.50 for a house his size.
For anyone reading, you are welcome and encouraged to leave comments. The more I receive, the more likely I'll try to add new articles. Please leave your feedback, I'd love to know how to make this as informative and interesting as possible. You're also welcome to PM me for any extra information or article ideas, I'll do my best to help you out.
More coming soon...
then despair is not something in the trunk of your car.
