My heart stings strain
as the musician plucks them relentlessly
why do you say such things
to me, a heart whom is weak
my love for you has never faltered
even when you weren't around
how can you say
such things that would hurt me?
I would like to believe
you didn't say those things deliberately
more subtle is this poison
that pulls my heart strings
My chest aches as tears rise to my eyes
how can you say or imply that I
would ever hurt you knowingly?
So close I thought we were
that you knew me better
maybe I was wrong but I would like to think other
that maybe I had done wrong
and that you were merely suggesting
that I was the one wrong
and you were the one who loves me
I wait for your hand
that loving kiss I have yet to recieve
as I reach unto you
I realize you are no where in sight
I will wait for you
until you are here
for I have picked my poison
my curse, my gift from above
for I don't regret
