when we first got rosier she would venture thru every part of my grandparents house. but she seemed to have a distinct facination with the bathroom. particulary the toilet... i'm not sure what it is about cats and toilets, but she was no exception. me and my brother were in the kitchen when we heard a splash. yes she fell in..never really seen a wet cat before. it was pretty funny.

the night after rosier had been declawed. my family went out to get a few groceries while my grandpa stay at home with rosier. now one thing i need to mention when we first brought rosier home she would not have anything to do with us... she just wanted to get back to her farm (she was a barn cat) but this night she was sleeping on my grandpa's stomach when we got home. but being the jumping individual that she is, she jumped up and race up the front side of my grandpa. he still has the long narrow scars from her claws.

i don't quite know where she got the habit from, but it is definatly a strange one. when ever rosier was not pleased with something we did or didn't do, she would tell us in a very distinct manner. she would begin in the basement and bellow a low meowing sound (more like a moose in heat) then slowly move to whatever room you happen to be in. continueing to meow the whole way. when she reached you, you would see a gray and white cat with an anymous sock in her mouth. at first we thought this was either some motherly or hunting instict. but as soon as she made eye contact with you she would spit the sock out and go retrieve another till you did what she wanted. after we got home from one 3 week vacation (we had a house-sitter there watching the animal) we found a pile of over 30 socks lying all over the living room.

rosier was always a hunter. she spent a large majority of her days staring out the large patio window, chirping at the bird who had decided to make a nest there. if the days were warm enough we would leave the back door open to let the cats go outside. but one day we came home to a large mess and a huge ruckus. we followed a trail of feathers to the dining room, to see the slender white figure posing on the top of neighbooring bird. once we had arrived and acknowledged her for what she had done, she stepped off the bird and let it go. much to mine and my sister's surprise the bird was still alive and fully capable of flying, which it did all over the upstairs part of the house. it took ten minutes for us to catch it and let it outside. it amazed me that an animal could catch a flying creature like that alive and keep it alive just so her mom would be proud. this showed me how kind-hearted rosier was, despite how rough and tough she tried to act. my other cat meshia has caught several birds, but never left any of them alive, but instead played with their bodies. this seems more cat like.
