You know, I always scoffed when I'd see a knife informercial/commercial where they show a knife cutting a soda can. I'd always think when the hell am I going to need to do that anyhow.
Well, I found out when. It's for those times you put a soda into the freezer to cool it down quicker, but you forget about it for a couple of hours. That means it has started to freeze, giving the contents a nice thick slush.
You can open it and sip on it constantly to get that little bit of soda out. However, sometimes you'll bring the open can back to your room and the ice at the bottom will rise causing the liquid to come gushing out of the top. That can cause a mess and lose precious liquid in the process.
You can also pull the tab out and lean it into a glass and let it thaw and trickle out slowly. You still end up looking like a jack a**, but at least this way you don't make a mess, unless you knock the can out inadvertently.
That's why you get all of the liquid that you can out of it, then you take a knife and cut the can in half so you can scrape out the slush at the bottom.
What you're left with is a nice slush-filled drink to enjoy at your leisure.
Serving size: 1 per can
This has been freeze-cooking with Jeremiah.
Now if you excuse me, I'm going to enjoy this slush-filled glass of Vault that I prepared earlier.
Bon Appetite!
