I'm not actually sure if this goes under the heading of political, but hey. The big headline in the Toronto Star today was about black only schools. I'm sorry, but since when was racism okay? If that isn't racism, I don't know what is. If some white person said "I think I'm going to open a school for ONLY white students to celebrate caucasion heritage" or some dumb thing, they would be burned at the stake!!! So why is it so appropriate when it's not a "white" person.
I don't think it's the "white" population that's being racist anymore. When certain rappers can get away with mentioning the Cryps (A white hating gang- similar to the KKK, but not white.) without being frowned upon- accepted actually- I think there is an issue at hand!!
These are not unfounded words- A black celebrity was once pulled over and charged with drunk driving. Why did he get away with it? He told the judge that he was pulled over for being a black man driving a nice SUV. I thought laws applied to everyone...I guess I was wrong.
And as for all of those out there saying "The black population was abused and beaten down for so long". Deal with it. That's not today's society. Yes, there will always be ignorant folks who think that one race or another is superior. They're wrong of course- but they are ALL wrong, not just the ones who are white. And so what, in any case? Women were beaten down and mistreated just as much and for much longer. We still are trying to prove ourselves.
