S.H.Y.
Super-Human Youth

Freshman Allen Rivers tries to survive his first experiances in high school. He's thin, wears glasses, reads books for fun, and makes good grades. To most, he's a quiet loner, and he has never really aspired to be anything greater, though he is really a nice guy to the few people who have ever held conversations with him. The last thing that he wants is attention drawn to himself. And then Allen discovers he is not just an ordinary kid. And a certain governmental agency quickly becomes aware of this discovery...

S.H.Y. is a secret government organization that seeks out kids with the ability to transition for their physical bodies to their "Secondary" bodies. Unbeknowst to most humans, everyone actually has two bodies: a Primary and a Secondary. For most, whatever the Primary does the Secondary does along with it. But our Primary bodies exist inn the Primary Realm--the ordinary, phyiscal plane-- while our Secondary bodies exist in the Secondary Ream. The Secondary Realm is another plane of existance, parallel to the Primary Realm. Most of the time humans, who don't even know about the Secondary Realm anyway, go through their whole lives in the Primary Realm. But some few have the ability to shift into their Secondary bodies, essentially making the Secondary primary for a while. This is called "Shifting Priority," and those who can do it are called "Shifters."

The importance is that there are things that live in the Secondary Realm that do not exist on the Primary Realm at all. Most of these beings are mosters that devour whatever they can. They used to be rare... but lately (the past 60-70 years) there has been a dramatic increase in their numbers. These beings are fully capable of destroying a human's Secondary body, and whatever happens to one body happens to the other. People all over the world begin to die, sometimes in horrific or violent ways, and the causes to these deaths are completely unknown and unseen. Without the ability to shift priority to their Secondary bodies, the humans cannot defend themselves. It falls to organizations such as S.H.Y. and the ogranziation they graduate into--CMSR (Civil Moniters of the Secondary Realm)--to protect the rest of the human population against these threats.

The story will revolve around Allen Rivers and his struggles to balance his school work, social life (or lack-there-of), and the fact that he is super-human but cannot tell anyone.
