Personality He's quiet. Most of the time he'll be doing homework or reading a book, but he will fight like a dog if he feels someone he loves is in danger.
Past To make a very, very long story short, he studied at two magic schools before coming to this one. His father was killed by his father's best friend, who became his surrogate father, until he was sent to the first school he went to. He and his surrogate father met up later, at the second school he went to, by complete chance. He's also an age-immortal by blood, so he can't die of old age. He can die of other things, though. Because of his parents' bloodlines, however, he has an extreme allergy to sunlight, and will burn if exposed to it for more than a few seconds at a time. He wears scarves and hoods to avoid the burning. Both of the girls he loved either chose someone else or chose nobody over him. There is one girl who treats him well, but he tries to stay as far away from it becoming a relationship as possible, for fear of being abandoned again. He does not have a voice, because he swallowed some potent poison as self-punishment once, and that poison fried his voicebox. He has to whisper. He used to be a Saito shadow-warrior, but after certain large happenings involving his surrogate father and the end of the world, he gave those powers up and only kept the Shinmei-ryu swordsmanship and the ability to use the deck of cards he was given long ago. For a long time he ran from the world, living at a monastery in Kyoto, studying his old style of Shinmei-Ryu and becoming a priest in Shinto, but recently he was brought back to the world by (ironically enough) the wedding of his surrogate father. Now, back in the "real world," he needs to find a place to stay, and what better place than a school, where he can read and learn new things? He just hopes that there will be little fighting involved. He is tired of fighting.

Other He wears a hakama and a haori when he's indoors, which is often. From his shadow-warrior past, he can hide in shadows, but nothing more than that. He simply becomes invisible. He also has incredible balance and acrobatic skills, and all the nice things that come with being Shinmei-ryu, like shukuchi (instant movement).
