So I was made the Lady Bess Throckmorton for Festival. Shes one twisted and weird lady. Historically, she marries Sir Walter Raleigh- secretly. And in 1616 when hes beheaded, she has his head enbalmed and carries it around in a red leather bag. In the year our fesitval is set, she should only be about 7, but I play her as a 19 year old- the first year she would have been in the Queens serivce as a Maid of Honor (unmarried lady-in-waiting). We have a Sir Walter and Bess and Walter love to flirt- its so funny. xd
Opening weekend came and went and kicked serious a**!! It was AMAZING to be out on the streets like that, in full character, all day. My dress is rocking. Huge confection of hideous green and gold fabric that would make a damned ugly couch, but makes a gorgeous gown, and gold silk. Its awesome. Weighs over 30 pounds, when you consider everything I'm wearing. My corset has 17 pieces of steel boning in it. Love it.
