Har har har, by the way if you're wondering, Stevie Reynolds was one of our old teachers in Chester Catholic High, and he was a legend basically! biggrin

But with all fun must come some sadness...
...Friday 6th July 2006, the music world lost a trully insipiration man...that man was the great Syd Barrett.
Founder of Pink Floyd, he quickly rose to fame by writing the band's 1st single 'Arnold Layne' which gave them the foot-in they needed to take the world by force, sadly after writing pretty much 95% of the 1st Pink Floyd album and 1 1/2 songs on the 2nd, he left...was it his mental state, he couldn't cope with the fame and the drugs? Who knows...but he wasn't down and out yet, he used the productional help of his replacement in Pink Floyd, David Gilmour to make 2 albums in one year 'Barrett' and 'The Madcap Laughs'.
Shortly after though, he decided to severe all ties with not only his former band mates, but the music industry all together, he went into exile and was never to be seen again, until one day...at Pink Floyd's recording of 'Shine on You Crazy Diamond' (Coincidently, a song about Syd) he turned up and sat down in the studio, he had put on a considerable ammount of weight and had shaved all his hair off, and that was the last they ever saw of him.
Just a few years ago, Syd was diagnosed with Type-2 diabetes and stomach ulsers...as an exile in cambridge he continued to live, refused to dwell on the past and still with that 'icon' status, he died less than a week ago from his diabetic problems.
A true legend, a great song writer...he will be missed

As for my own life, I've been doing rather splendedly, I passed my college course with flying colours!! (I got a merit!!) So that's really proved that my last year hasn't just been one big journey of smoking pot and buying too many ciggies!
But hey, next I'll be getting myself a job and into the big wide world I go! whoo!
