Play around with alternate approaches to expressions, perspectives and scale. A simple object can be made artistic if it is portrayed in a setting that makes it look much bigger or smaller than it is, or places it in an original and funny situation. Putting an object somewhere creative can help something familiar look very unique.

The ISO, aperture and shutter speed are an important part of photos so make sure you know the combination that works best for you. The picture exposure is dictate by these three items. Avoid overexposed pictures or underexposed ones unless you are looking for a particular atmosphere. Experimentation with these features and how they work together will lead you to the perfect combination.

Consider purchasing a film camera if you enjoy the sentimental feeling that old photographs provide. Black and white ISO 200 film will take beautiful photos with an old time charm. Try having prints made on different papers, like fiber-based papers.

Look at other photographers' work for inspiration. Paying attention to other photographers' work and their different styles will remind you of the endless capabilities of capturing those special moments.

Here's a photo trick that you should try. Learn as much as you can about the speeds your shutter has. There are S, P, M,and A settings on your camera. The P is an initial for the program mode. When you apply this setting it means you camera is fully automatic, so it sets things like shutter speed and aperture for you. Use this setting whenever you are unsure of what it is you will be photographing.
