Even if you have a lot of other priorities for instance, sports, extracurricular activities, etc., still you need to complete a senior project to graduate successfully

Bunting said the school set up support centers throughout the building for students and faculty who needed counseling. He describedthe mood in the building as "subdued."

"We've got students who were very close to Tony, and they've decided to come to school," Bunting said. "I think many of them have come to school to be together, and also to take some time to use some of that energy that we feel when we lose somebody to turn that grief toward something positive. It's been really nice to see students creating cards for Tony's family."

Bunting said CVU alumni who knew Moran also arein touch with the school. CVU has also gotten in touch with the Center for Technology,Essex, where Moran spent a year last yearstudying automotive technology.

Center for TechnologyPrincipal Robert Travers could not be reached for comment Wednesday.

Moran is the second CVU student to die in less than a year. Last April, senior Joseph Marshall was killed after losing control of his speeding car on Vermont 116. Marshall's car struck bicyclist Richard Tom, 47, killing him, before slamming into a tree.

"We talk about finding those moments of light in an otherwise pretty dark space, which is what we feel every time in any school when we lose a student," Bunting said Wednesday. "Just the groups that have reached out to make sure we are okay and make sure our little school community doesn't feel alone, it's incredibly moving. My hope is that the family is experiencing the same outreach."
