The folks at Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League understand the importance of obedience training for dogs and they want to help your puppy succeed. The West Palm Beach limited-access shelter, which offers countless services to the community besides adoption, is offering a host of training choices for you and your canine. FREE to adopters only are their 'drop in' basic obedience classes which are offered every Saturday, beginning on January 7, 2012 at 9 a.m. These classes are held outdoors and no prior registration is required.
These classes are free and open to dogs adopted from ANY shelterPlease arrive by 8:30 a.m. to attend the 9 a.m. classesBring a leash (not retractable type)Wear closed, sturdy shoes such as sneakersBring SOFT treats for your dog and do not feed your pup the morning of classIf your dog is very energetic, exercise him a bit before class
Another training option from Peggy Adams is their seminars. Check their website for 2012 dates and times. These are free seminars with the 'hope' of a $20 donation to help fund the wonderful work being done at PAARL, which is private and not government-funded. The shelter serves 7,000-10,000 animals per year with their rescue, adoption, microchipping, training and spay/neuter services.
The shelter, located at 3100 North Military Trail in West Palm Beach, Florida, also offers 4 week training classes in Beginning Manners or Canine Good Citizen / Intro to Therapy. The cost for these is just $50.00 for the 4 weeks.
You can also sign up on their site for online classes with renouned trainer Connie Cleveland and will receive 10 online lessons for $30.00, so find the option that works best for you.
