Studio Monitor Speakers tend to be more robust than Hi-fi speakers as they need to deal with untreated sources, sudden spikes in volume and other high-pressure sounds. A good studio monitor isn't limited to just the studio—you can use it anywhere you want high-quality playback, whether that's for recreational listening at home or professional studio monitors sound booth use. We have a vast collection of both active and passive studio monitors featuring some of the leading brands in studio speaker technology. The range consists of a number of different sized woofers making sure you can find the ideal monitor for either home monitor speakers production or the studio.

I'd rather rent a very good set of speakers for 5 times (for small parties this will cost you up to 175,00 or so, but that is 2 active speakers plus stands, cables, flightcase and what have you), than buy a 175,00 speaker, which decidedly will not be the same quality as the rental gear you are getting (or shouldn't be if you pick the right rental company).

Though they might be expensive than studio monitors, they are designed to make pre-recorded music sound better. What you really need is an equipment that will give accurate sound, without adding any color to it. That's where studio reference monitors play an important role! But I'd never encountered anything like what's going on here since the YG Anat III Studio speakers arrived. For a medium-sized, floor-standing three-way, the Anat Studio is miraculously free of integration issues.

Known mainly for their mobile PA audio systems, Behringer ‘s studio monitors have some big names to compete against. The seminal go-to speaker for producers and DJs, KRK is usually the first speaker that fellow DJs recommend for those in the market. Just goes to show how subjective sound is. But for £200 a pair for 8″ studio monitors, you get what you pay for.

Audioengine ‘s make of their studio monitors are great and we definitely recommend going with one of their models. Amazing sound quality on the Audioengine 5+ studio monitors and if they're a bit too expensive for you the lower models are listed above. The woofer is relatively standard and a bit smaller than the bigger monitors we've spoken about thus far, but 3″ isn't too bad of a sacrifice if you have a home studio.

The idea behind the size of the speakers is that the listener (i.e. audio engineer) should be able to hear the sound coming directly from the speaker as opposed to the distorted version that is bouncing off walls and other surfaces. While studio speakers are often used by professional sound engineers in areas involving audio recording, film, radio, and even television and cinema - computer monitor loudspeakers are designed purely for the convenience of most users who happen to not be audiophiles.

An electric guitarist uses effects on stage and your home recording studio is going to need some effects software that reproduces the effects you use on gigs. I'd actually like to see a couple of more detents in the range, to give you more level choices that you know are balanced between the speakers. The speakers provided good low-end detail (they go down to 40 Hz) without being boomy. Even with the speakers only about five feet apart, I still got a nice wide stereo spread.
