You're in your first year of college, and already you can see how much it costs just to attend. There are so many things you have to pay for, such as tuition and books. You don't have to worry, though your wallet may be feeling the crunch. Here are a few tips for the college student who wants to save money.

Visit the dorm before deciding to live there. You may discover that you don't want to live in that environment. Not only that, but you may find that you prefer one dorm over the other. If you chose a single room but end up in a quad, make sure you will get the choice you signed up for, and make sure you have a contingency plan in place.

Make sure to make time for both socializing and academics.
