Billion Dollar Campaign - Most of us who have read Malcolm Gladwell's book, "Outliers" filed away this little factoid-- it requires 10,000 hours of deliberate action to get successful. Specifically, he wrote "an extraordinarily consistent answer within an incredible quantity of fields... you must have practiced, to possess apprenticed, for ten thousand hours before getting good."

I reached the ten,000 number a long time ago and also a fairly well cultivated ability to assess talent in numerous fields.
