The Tekeen Bomb originated out of the Lone Star State, Texas, and consists of dropping a 1.5oz shot of light beer into a glass filled with around 3.5oz of passion fruit lime Tekeen, a premium alcoholic cocktail.
Examiner spoke to Tekeen's founder Christian Alvarez to try and find out more, but he'd only tell us, 'One of the best parts about this beverage industry is that it is very dynamic. I am not too sure who invented the Tekeen Bomb but it is actually pretty awesome!'
The popular and trending new shot was first brought to our specific attention during this year's Spring Break and now we've seen it turn into a global craze that has forced bars around the country to start serving it to patrons.
One of the first bars to sell the explosive shot is Avenue 1704 in McAllen, Texas, where a Tekeen Bomb will cost you five dollars. The Tekeen Bomb has also been spotted at various Hollywood parties, at Miami's Ultra Music Festival, and was recently reported being enjoyed at California's Stagecoach Country Music Festival, where the likes of Blake Shelton, Frankie Ballard and Dierks Bentley were seen shooting back a few backstage prior to their performances.
But the real catch with this new trendy shot isn't so much that it gets you really drunk quickly, but that it tastes incredible thanks to the passion fruit flavoring that the Tekeen element brings to the table; Tekeen is made with agave nectar, orange wine, and all natural flavors. While Irish Car Bombs (Irish stout, Irish cream, and Irish whiskey) are a favorite of males at bars, the Tekeen Bomb is actually being requested and used heavily by females too.
Examiner spoke to Cindy Horne, a "Tekeen Bomber" who tells us, 'During Spring Break us girls brought a few bottles of Tekeen with us because the guys only ever bring beer. We figured we'd try this type of bomb shot out using their beer while down at the pool, and all of us couldn't get enough. The shot wasn't heavy at all and tasted great and smooth going down.'
The latest failed, publicized terror attack happened in New York?s famous Times Square. The attempt happened during the busy dinner period and could potentially have done lots of damage and killed lots of people. Luckily the amateur bomb did not detonate and was reported to the police by an alert sidewalk vendor.
The suspected bomber or attempted bomber is 30 year old Faisal Shahzad who is a U.S. citizen born in Pakistan. It is easy to look back now, but this could almost turn into an episode of ?Dumb Criminals?. Shahzad was arrested at JFK international airport as he was attempting to board a flight to Dubai. Several reports say that he had actually made it on the plane and I am sure that he thought that he was home free.
Some reports say that Shahzad was tracked down through emails that were sent in arrainging the purchase of the vehicle used in the attempted bombing. More recent he was tracked down through the use of a disposable phone that he purchased to communicate with the sellers of the vehicle. Most crime shows on TV will lead you to believe that these phones can not be traced obviously that is not true.
Another dumb mistake that he made was to leave his house key in the car that he attempted to blow up. I?m sure that he was in a hurry to get out of there and was probably a bit nervous, but that was not a very smart move. The night of the attempted bombing, he had to call his landlord, Stanislaw Chomiak to let him in. He lived alone and told the landlord that he had taken a cab from a train station. It?s going to read more be pretty hard in court to explain why his keys were in that car.
