Creating a splash pad at
http://faunapowa.com/blog/2015/07/02/drip-irrigation-systems-make-watering-plants-cinch/ Kees Park in Pineville this year proved to be more problematic than expected, and city officials now envision it being ready in the spring or early summer of 2016.
Id like to have it by the springtime. Were shooting for the spring, but Im saying early summer, just to be safe, Pineville Mayor Clarence Fields said.
In January, Fields said he hoped the splash pad could be ready this year. However, it was a little more complicated than we thought, he said, and that delayed the project.
On that particular site where were putting it, it used to be the old city swimming pool. Its not just your normal piece of land. Theres a lot of mitigation that has to happen, Fields said.
When youre digging and drilling on a site like that, some things you have to be careful of, especially since the outline of the old pool is still there.
Fields said he recently saw new plans for the splash pad, and the project is proceeding.

The splash pad is among various improvements planned for Kees Park, which is located on La. Highway 28 East.
Additional parking will be added east of the Community Center at Kees Park. That new parking area will be the primary parking area for those visiting the splash pad, and it will also accommodate those going to the Kees Park Community Center or the Pineville Youth Center.
Another project planned for Kees Park is expanding the disc golf course from nine holes to 18 holes.
Fields said Pineville residents have requested city officials to provide a splash pad.
The city of Alexandria has splash pads in three parks City Park on Masonic Drive, Cheatham Park on Jones Avenue and Harmon Park on Monroe Street and they are popular sites for children during warm-weather months.
