Enjoy Your Own Organic Produce With These Tips
More and more people are realizing the wonders of organic gardening. Using this simple advice, you can begin growing your own thriving organic garden. Just use these ideas and follow through with them.

Choose higher yield plant varieties. In many cases, a disease-resistant or cold-tolerant hybrid will produce a higher yield than a traditional variety.

Plant perennials that are resistant to slug and snail infestations. Snails and slugs are garden nightmares, and only need a single evening to obliterate a plant. These pests are particularly fond of young perennials and those varieties with leaves that are tender, smooth, and thin. Perennials with hairy, tough leaves as well as those with unpleasant taste are not appetizing to snails and slugs. Excellent varieties include heuchera, achillea, euphorbia, campanula, and helleborus.

There are home solutions available to combat the powdery mildew you may find on your plants. All you need to do is mix baking soda with a tiny bit of liquid soap in with some water. Spray this on your plants once a week until the mildew disappears. This mixture will not hurt your plants and it will eliminate the mildew slowly but efficiently.

Plants will respond with maximum growth if they have the amount of CO2 they require. When exposed to high levels of CO2, most types of plants will grow better. Greenhouses provide the best levels of CO2 for plants. For the best growing conditions you should keep the CO2 levels high.

Be sure to get rid of the weeds growing in your garden. Weeds can take over a healthy garden faster than you think. White vinegar can be used as a natural herbicide. Weeds can be killed by white vinegar! Apply it full strength to any areas where weeds are a problem.

Before you plant seeds, pre-soak them for a night somewhere dark. Drop your seeds into a small jar that is filled with cold water. This will give your seeds a good start by making sure they have plenty of water, which they need to sprout. This way, the seeds you have planted will have some chance of growing.

As you can see, keeping up with an organic garden is both challenging and rewarding. It takes time and patience. Use what you learned today, and apply it to your garden to see how much of a difference it makes. You will find that organic gardening is an ideal approach for growing vegetables, flowers and grasses.
