Police are investigating after a massive tree fell on a man on Benjamin Street in Old Greenwich.
According to police, first responders were dispatched to the area around 1:15 p.m. on Friday. Firefighters removed the male patient from underneath the tree and he was given medical aid.
The patient is a plumbing contractor from Milford who was getting into his vehicle when the tree fell on him, police said. Several vehicles were also damaged by the tree.

Police said the patient was taken to Stamford hospital with serious injuries.
The Greenwich Tree Department is on standby to remove the tree, which has closed Benjamin Street. Police are working with the tree department to determine all the facts surrounding the incident.
