Police in Arlington, Texas don't know why 19-year-old Christian James Taylor smashed his SUV into this car dealership.
But when they responded, they say 49-year-old officer Brad Miller shot Taylor.
Miller graduated from the police academy only four months ago, and is still in training.
Police are promising a thorough investigation.

"The department is sad for the loss of this life. And we are committed to providing our community we serve a clear and transparent investigation. We will hold ourselves accountable to the highest standards of policing."
Taylor's father says his son had never been in serious trouble and that police should not have killed the teenager.

"What he was doing ain't no way right. But to shoot an unarmed man? And you're trained, as a police officer, to take down men with your hands."
Taylor's death comes as Ferguson, Missouri prepares to mark the one year anniversary of the shooting death of 18-year-old Michael Brown by police.
His death unleashed weeks of protests over the use of excessive force by police against minorities.
