This Clare Valley assortment of wines is a single of the very best of the several in the former BERINGER BLASS Australian stable now owned by Treasury Wine Estates (formerly acknowledged as Fosters). Named following Annie Wayman, a nearby persona in the late 19th/early 20th century, the wines had been previously made at the historic Quelltaler winery but are now made at the spectacular Wolf BLASS facilities in the Barossa. The wines glow with fruit and are full and ripe with good stability and varietal expression. As could be anticipated for Clare Valley, Riesling and Shiraz specifically shine, as does Shiraz/Grenache/ Mourvèdre mix that consists of all around 50% Shiraz. The premium Copper Trail Shiraz is made in open fermenters from unirrigated vines with component of the wine getting an extended maceration prior to two years’ ageing Annie's Lane Wines in mainly French oak barrels. The Riesling, the finest value of the whole lot, harnesses pretty Clare Valley fruit which is checked by fantastic acidity but like all the whites must be drunk youthful. Reds are much better with 3 years’ ageing or a lot more but will hold substantially longer.
