My doctor prescribed phenegen but then i just slept for 3 days which ended up leaving me dehydrated and i spent the day http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/meds/a601209.html in the ER today getting IV fluids and Zofran (a miracle drug for me!). Well, over the weekend the nausea turned into me not being able to eat or drink.
So, my question to anyone who took zofran for hypermesis gravidarum (my diagnosis according to the ER)- how long did you need the zofran? For now, i was told to take it around the clock since i was waking up from my sickness this past weekend. I am only 6 weeks pregnant (baby #2) and i was experiencing mild nausea before i even had a positive pregnancy test.
Thank you for your input, i am still in disbelief that this pregnancy is starting off so rough- but very thankful that my baby is healthy and that this medication is working for me zofran for morning sickness still throwing up to regain strength and get out of bed finally!
. This was odd since with baby #1 i just had mild on/off nausea from about week 6/7 to week 12. At the moment i feel so much better, just tired and ready to take it easy for a few days- but at least i can walk without assistance and drink/eat bland items.
For second/third/fourth pregnancies- is it really THAT different from one pregnancy to another? I never got to the point of needing medication with my daughter- much less to the point of being in the ER for dehydration
