Tai Chi Styles for Beginners: Differences and History.

Like some prestigious universities in the U.S. (believe Yale, Harvard, and Stanford), four major schools or tai chi fashions have been named after their creators. Each school or lineage has its distinctive style or tai chi techniques.

The fifth important tai chi style is actually a group of styles known as Blend styles. These could include movements from other martial arts forms and combine components from distinct tai chi styles.

Each of the tai chi styles do movements somewhat differently than the others.
