Dr Stuart Mogul talks about an Important Write-up that can help Your Podiatry Issues
SOME boots were made for walking. Others need a little adjustment. Just consult with podiatrist Dan Everson.

It's almost 30 years since Dr Everson began his first clinic.

" Not many people really figured out what a podiatrist was. At that time if you shared with someone at a tavern that you dealt with feet, they would excuse themselves to obtain a drink as opposed to the present day 'Really? Well quite possibly you can help me. See I have this concern.,'," Dr Everson said laughingly.

"I had this plan for getting established early.

"I desired to achieve a lot more than just having a practice or two. I wasn't fascinated by that. I desired to achieve a world first. This had to do with making a difference.".

A few years later Dr Everson made a reservation for an appointment with a co-worker who made podiatry instruments using computer assisted design. In a matter of months he had the first Australian firm to create functional orthotics.

"It's kinda neat, that you can influence the way someone walks, relieve pressures and strains of some areas and make someone else function more efficiently," he mentioned.

Dr Everson formed his 2nd brainchild, Kinetic Orthotics, and in accomplishing this, originated his own world first approach.

His therapy uses modern computer integrated technology and a blend of foot morphology and kinetic clinical data to custom design and manufacture orthotics for specific subjects.

These services were provided cost free to Nambour hospital for 2 to 3 years, saving hospital organisation over $800,000 in admissions.

Dan Everson Podiatry now has six clinics throughout south east Queensland, and Kinetic Orthotics distributes to 150 podiatrists around the state and overseas. Dr Everson's patented orthotics design and prescription was evidence based.

"We had the ability to create a patent that was evidence and research based - the regular approach most podiatrists use is the actions they take and make aren't evidence based," he says.

Dr Everson has earlier worked together with QUT to create an online education program and in a few brief months his first handbook for the mainstream public, Move Without Pain, will be launched.

Still on the search to effect society change, Dr Everson wants to set up a charity for children with disabilities later this year.

Dr Everson is part of Sunshine Coast Council's Export and Global Capability Program, which he says has provided great insight into the industry and will help bring jobs to the region.

His only wish is for more local businesses to get on board.

"The provision of services - that's human nature. (With) podiatry you oversee the patient. If you worry about the money you will never have enough and you will never smile.".
