Use This Piece As Your Personal Gardening Guide
There are many all-natural methods out there you can use to grow a bright, vibrant, healthy organic garden. Just learn some techniques, and put the ones that resonate with you into practice.

Try not to cause shock to your plants by gradually changing their conditions and temperature. On the first day, place them in the sun outside for only an hour or so. Gradually increase the the time they spend outside over a one week period. Hopefully, after about a week or so, your plants should have adjusted to the change. Now you can transplant them without any worries.

Start your plants in containers, and then transplant the seedlings into the garden later on. Your plants will have a better chance of getting big and healthy! In addition, it lets you tighten the time in between plantings. You can plant the seedlings once you have removed the old plants.

Don't bother with expensive chemicals if your plants start to sport powdery mildew. Mix some baking soda and a very small amount of liquid soap into water. Spray this solution on plants once weekly until the mildew is gone. The baking soda is harmless to your plants and a very effective remedy.

Climbing plants make a strong addition to walls, fences or other free-standing structures. Many climbers are so robust that they can cover an unattractive wall or fence in a single growing season. They can also grow through existing shrubs or trees, or be trained to cover an arbor. Some climbers you plant will have to be tied off and supported, but others have no problem attaching themselves to any surface using their tendrils or twining stems Plants such as clematis, wisteria, climbing roses, or honeysuckle are always great choices.

Make sure to protect your tender shrubs from the elements. Any potted shrubs should be sheltered in the winter from cold weather. With a sheet or blanket, you want to loosely cover the wigwam after you tie the tops of the canes together. When you do this you allow air to flow and circulate which can actually prevent rotting, this method is great and better than just wrapping your plant in some plastic.

For an unusual, but effective, organic solution to weeding young plants, try "boiling" the weeds away. Boiling water can be considered as an herbicide, and it is a safe one. Literally pour the water on the weeds, avoiding any wanted plants near them, and watch the weeds die over time. The extreme heat of the water will cause damage to the weeds' roots, which will stop them from growing any more.

You should think about adding evergreen plants that yield berries into your yard space. Your yard will then have bright spots of color all year round, which is especially cheerful in the winter when all of your other flora is bare or colorless. Some plants provide color during the winter like the Winterberry, and American Holly, the American Cranberrybush and the Common Snowberry.

It can be tough to keep insects and other plant-ruining crawlies from infesting your garden. It is important not to use harmful chemical agents, because you are growing produce that is intended to be eaten. One way that you can help control garden pests is to remain vigilant. If you find any unwanted pests, try removing them by hand.

When you water your garden, do it with care. Utilize a soaker hose. This saves time as you need not water each plant one at a time with the nozzle of a hose or with a watering can. Keep the water running slowly so it doesn't spray up onto the plants' leaves. You can go about your business and leave your soaker hose at work for an hour or two.
