Shih Poo Pups
After I was researching Shih Poos on the Web, I discovered it troublesome to search out much, if any, info on them. The easiest way to determine how your puppy will look and what temperment characteristics he/she will have is to have a look at both the Shih Tzu and the Poodle and recognize that he/she can have any mixture of qualities of both dog. This is not all the time the case although, I have by no means seen a Shih Poo with a snout as brief as the Shih Tzu. Shih Poos tend to have their very own distinctive look that lies somewhere in between a Shih Tzu and a Poodle. The result of the cross between a Shih Tzu and a Poodle is, arms down, the cutest puppy ever born.

The Shih Poo tends to have hybrid vigor (say some experts), that means much less genetic problems as a result of cross-breeding. This is the reason it is higher to get a pet that had a Shih Tzu mother and a Poodle father, or vice versa, versus getting a puppy that had two Shih Poo dad and mom. There's a little little bit of 'weeping eyes' (apparently the Shih Tzu does not have any tear ducts), which requires constant consideration, or snorting, because of their short snouts, which is frequent in the Shih Tzu.

Shih Poos are available in a wide variety of colours, from black to white to brown to gray and even with apricot markings. The scissor chew comes from the Poodle and the undershot jaw comes from the Shih Tzu. The Shih Poo's hair can grow very long and develop into somewhat difficult to handle. Hair could be left lengthy on top of the pinnacle tied in a top knot as with long Shih Tzu coats. Shih Poos share the great temperment qualities of each the Shih Tzu and the Poodle.

I think this could look lovable though.) Shih Poo's hair tends to face up on their head and hang over their eyes making it troublesome for them to simply see. So, with your Shih Poo, be careful to not 'free feed' (leaving food in their dish always as a substitute Shih Tzu Poodle of feeding them only at mealtimes). This is necessary as a result of, as I mentioned, Shih Poos have long, floppy ears and that results in the temperature of the interior ear being a little bit larger than that of canines with upright ears.
