At first, it sounds like a great idea. Both the House and Senate in the Virginia General Assembly agree that all school personnel should get a 1.5 percent raise for the upcoming year. After multiple years of barely making ends meet and no cost of living increase, it’s time to see this happen. But the normal way of covering the cost won’t be enough and we hope the General Assembly sees that. The cost of the raise is split two ways. One third is paid for by the state and the remaining two thirds come from the local government. click here
