Welcome to Google's domain registry. We're really excited about the domains we'll soon be able to offer. The Internet has always been first and foremost about self-expression, and the dawn of this era of hundreds of new domains marks one of the most unpredictable moments in the history of a highly unpredictable medium.

.EDU has always meant education, .GOV government, .ORG non-profits. Today's new domains are infinitely more open-ended. There will be new homes for creativity, for business, for explorers, comedians and professionals. What will .HOW mean? .EAT? .SOY? We have our ideas, but how you develop your piece of this online real estate is up to you. Seeking Registry Testing Partners

We are currently seeking Registrar partners to help test our registry platform. Please see here for our requirements and selection criteria, and if you're interested in becoming a testing partner please submit your proposal (including costs) to testing@googleregistry.co by 31st January 2015.

We are currently in the process of launching our third top-level domain, .HOW. More people search for "how" than any of the five "W"s (who, what, where, when, and why). .HOW is a place for thinkers, tinkerers, and knowledge-seekers to explore everything from "how do" to "how to." If you're interested in carrying or registering a .HOW domain, you can download our RRA here. There are a few important dates to be aware of:

11/10/14 - 1/9/15: Trademark owners can apply for .HOW domains (known as the "Sunrise" period)

1/12/15 - 1/26/15: Anyone can apply for .HOW domains (known as the "Landrush" period)

1/28/15 and onwards: Anyone can immediately register available .HOW domains (known as "General Availability" wink

Please note that a claims period will run for the duration of the .HOW registration period, during which trademark owners will receive notification when their marks are registered as domains.
