Americans love to celebrate and nothing says let's celebrate like an Old Fashion 4th of July Celebration. One of the best places to celebrate the 4th of July is in Kent County, Maryland. Established in 1642, Kent County has a long history and tradition of celebrating the birth of our nation.

Cold months is a fantastic period of the year, with a lot of snow and capodanno bologna,. Sports lovers love carrying out: skiing, snowboarding, ice skating among other people.

You can go to a Halloween party and not be the big black witch, but peace and quiet. Exactly, you can Peace and quiet this year. This is not necessarily a very subtle idea, but it works almost every time. You can dress up as a mime, which is a symbol of quietness, while your friend can dress up as a hippie, hippies symbolizing peace. In order to be a real mime, you need black stretch clothes which cover you from head to toes and you need to paint your face white, so that it becomes inexpressive.

As Rock Hall is a fishing town, the town will celebrate the men and women that work the commercial fishing boats with Watermen's Day. The event will be held at the Bulkhead on Bayside Avenue, starting at 1p.m. The contest will include; Most Patriotic Workboat, Anchor Toss, and Workboat Docking Contest.

Where Did Halloween Customs Come From? When All Saints Day and the pagan festivals were combined, the rituals and customs were also combined. Wearing costumes, ghosts, witches, carrying lighted ornaments to represent spirits, the whole trick-or-treat thing, harvest parties, etc. got combined over the centuries with what had been a somber event in the Christian calendar. Some of these rituals had been sacrifices to pagan gods before the pagans were Christianized. And there's the rub! Christians, who have no problem with the Christmas Tree or Easter Egg (pagan rituals), seem to draw the line when it comes to the Halloween pagan rituals and customs...particularly those involving the dead.

You could also stick with the basics and throw an anti-Valetine's Day party. Invite several anti-V-day friends over and have a ball. Play games and think nothing of the cards you didn't buy, the candy you won't eat, and the flowers that won't flare up your allergies. Give the party a color theme that does not involve red or pink; try black and blue or white and orange . . . be as outrageous as possible, and have all the fun those couples are missing as they weep over their Hallmark cards!

This game is also known as 'pin the sperm on the egg'. Make a poster to hang on the wall with an 'egg' target. If you're artistic, you can paint a womb, but a simple circle will do. Cut out 'sperms' from white card and put a blob of poster putty on the back of each one. Blindfold your volunteers, spin them around and see if they can get their sperm anywhere near the egg.

'Winter Wonderland' continues through Dec. 23 and again on Dec. 26-30 from 7 p.m.-10 p.m. Divided into eight different habitats, Lowry Park Zoo features 1,700 animals from subtropical climates around the world in natural settings.

There is no right or wrong way to handle the holiday, whether it is Christmas, Hanukkah, a birthday or anniversary. Some may wish to follow family traditions, while others may choose to change.

BUILD COMMUNITY AND AWARENESS WITH MOTTOES Slogans solidify the main theme for each year's celebration. You may want to emphasize the grand scheme of things or focus on a particular issue. There may be off-shoots from different organizations as they gather support for their favored area. One group may consider the rivers and streams where their people fish and recreate as the top priority. Others may focus on trees, natural preserves, and all aspects of wood and forests. People living in mountain ranges may emphasize the importance of clean air and fight to prevent acid rain. Villages that live on the coasts want to keep their fisheries alive with clean oceans.
