Lowry Park Zoo, one of America's premier family zoos, presents 'Winter Wonderland,' an enchanting combination of holiday fun, arctic animals, seasonal displays and, of course, Santa, on selected evenings through Dec. 30. New this year is the Castle Light Show, featuring thousands of lights synchronized to music, plus a new carnival with games of chance.

On Jan. 8, the Music Center at Strathmore will present an 80th Birthday Celebration to Dr. King, featuring the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (BSO), Soulful Symphony and former NAACP President Kweisi Mfume.

Chestertown's 4th of July Celebration coincides with the towns First Friday Event. The Downtown Chestertown Association is inviting everyone to an Old Fashion Independence Day Celebration on July 2, from 5:30 until 8p.m. The event will be held in the center of town in Fountain Park and will include music, free balloons, free cotton candy, free flags and free popcorn, free lemonade and free snow cones. Wow. Corn dogs and sodas will be available for a tiny fee.
