Pensées de Lorenzo
"Stay here with me. Don't go. "

His wanting eyes looked into hers as he searched for some kind of mercy on her behalf. Would she leave? Would she take pity of him and stay there just for a few more moments before leaving into the cold night, like she always did.

"I really should go..." She said, softly. He could tell that she wanted to stay, but that she had to leave. Her parents were waiting for her. Her sister would ask her why she was away so late. She had love and fear in her voice, just as the water on his eyes spelt adoration and dreaminess. Love was bleeding from his heart.

"I'll walk you home."

"No. They can't know. They can't see you."

"Then I'll hide away as I say my good night to you from afar, from behind bushes and trees."

"It's too dangerous."

"It is. It's too dangerous."

"But you don't care about danger."

"I'm brave like that."

"More like stupid...."

He smiled to her words and said, "No. More like dumbass..."

They shared a smile, a glance and a soft kiss and embrace. He felt her soft blonde hair against his cheek as he hugged her as warmly as he could. He thought back at the times where they were an ocean apart and they would stay up late talking to each other. He thought back to the time that he kissed her for the first time in the candy section of the grocery store. He thought back on the time he first told her he loved her in person, as they both sat on a wooden bench, looking at birds and cars go by, hoping no one would see them. He thought back to all those times and then she spoke, with her perfect voice.

"Do you love me?"

"Yes. I love you. But don't take my word for it... just look at me and tell me what you think. Tell me what you see in my eyes once their upon yours. Don't take my word for it, just look at me and know that it's true. "

And then he stopped typing and fantasizing over her. He stopped thinking of her and of their bright future and his formidable dreams. He decided that it was time to go and sleep. Back to real life - back to the sad beating greyness offered by the daily life of a depressed British student in France.

He wondered how he could end his short story of them, one day. Perhaps the best way would be to say ....

"For you, Nicole. For our living family and our unborn one. For life. For love. For us."
