Salinity effect on the mean decadal rate for TA and TCO2. Salinity ABT-888 in PSS, TA is in μeq kg- 1, and TCO2 is in μmol kg- 1; and all the rates are expressed in per decade. The uncertainty for the mean TA/TCO2 ratio represents a combined uncertainty for the mean TA and TCO2 values; and the uncertainty for its rate of change reflects only the uncertainties in the rates of change in TA and TCO2. The possible causes for the changes are apocrine glands listed in the last column.
