Planning Your Next Site With SEO Success In Mind
In the world of Internet marketing, gathering as much SEO knowledge as you can will always be beneficial, regardless of how long you been doing this type of business. There are many tricks left to be discovered, even experienced IMers will attest to that. As long as you are new to this business, you are in a special category all by yourself. This isn't like learning brain surgery, however there will be a learning curve which will seem more like a vertical line to those just learning. You need to carefully plan out your first site once you have a reasonable and solid base of SEO knowledge. You need to approach each website in the same way, allowing yourself to follow the same method every time.

Trying to shove something "cool" into the title tag is one of the bigger mistakes that newbies make. Or, they just leave it alone and put nothing, or they just put something totally lame. Looking at websites is the best way to see pretty much everything that gets done online. You should use the primary keyword phrase for each page in its title tag. Every page is going to have a different keyword phrase and be optimized differently too. So you need to make absolutely sure that you have the right phrases for each tag. Then, you want to make the first couple of words really grab the readers.

When you're working with title tags and trying to write something that is both relevant and meaningful, work hard to keep the length in mind. You are going to need to keep it at less than seventy characters. In fact, it's in your best interest to simply aim at the upper limit but not allow yourself to go past it because going past it is just a huge waste of time. It is important that your information to be displayed so that seo expert readers can connect with it. Any words past that upper seventy character limit get cut off by the search engines. The people who see your page in search results won't see what gets left out so you're going to lose value. More importantly, you don't want to have to make a hugely long list of phrases and hope that they will all be caught. All pages are extremely optimized for the biggest and most important phrase as well as a few secondary phrases (and some others that you won't ever be able to correctly guess).

All mistakes with SEO on page factors are 100% avoidable if you have the right information at your fingertips. As well-meaning as a newbie can be because of their lack of knowledge, they will make more mistakes. What this point is leading up to is never, but never specify Home Page in the title tag. The first page usually does not have this kind of blunder, even if it is a newbie website. But you will see it and so that means people do not know about it. Unless you are optimizing for the phrase Home Page, it is unlikely that you will ever see it there. You will definitely do yourself a favor by avoiding this error.

You can actually get pretty creative with title tags just as long as you follow what is right with creating them. There aren't a lot of things that you can use that won't catch peoples' eyes and attention. Then you know they have to be written so they include the correct phrases you are going for.
