Constable recruitment paper leak case solved: Delhi Police - The Instances of India
NEW DELHI: Crime branch on Tuesday claimed to have cracked the Delhi Police Constable Recruitment examination paper leak case in Might this year, with the arrest of 27 people today from four states.
The four month long investigation also revealed that the question paper, which was circulated among 'clients' through WhatsApp, was leaked from the printing press itself. Each 'client' had paid Rs 5 to six lakh for the paper, police stated.
Police had initially believed that a neighborhood module was behind the leak but as investigation went on, a number of layers emerged spanning by way of Bihar, Delhi, Haryana and UP for the duration of which.
"It was revealed that the Delhi-NCR module was further divided into three sub modules, a single based at Najafgarh, second at Sonepat and third at Rewari, Haryana. For the duration of investigation, 18 persons were arrested from the Sonepat module and Najafgarh Sub-module. Four persons had been arrested of from a UP-primarily based module even though two persons were arrested from Rewari," stated Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ravindra Yadav.
It was in a school premises at a village in Rewari that the candidates numbering about 90 were produced to solve the question paper. It was at this stage of investigation that the query paper was identified to have physically emerged but the source was but to be identified.
The investigation from Rewari led to the key module and kingpin based at Bihar. It was discovered that some persons from Bihar had brought the query paper to Rewari which led police to Vikas Chander Bose. When Bose was arrested, he revealed that the paper was offered to him by a single Amar, police said.
Yesterday, the key member of this syndicate Amar, a resident of Bihar was nabbed from Minto road in Delhi which lastly put the Crime Branch on trail of the printing press from where the paper was leaked.
"Amar revealed that a single Gorakh Nath, an employee of the printing press had procured the paper and provided it to him, following which he as well was arrested.
"He disclosed that he was employed at the cutting machine of the printing press, where the query papers have been becoming reduce and sorted. He managed to get hold of a question paper and immediately after hiding it inside the shoe, smuggled it out of the printing press," said Yadav
