Stories and stuff
The silence that occurred at such a moment was unsettling to the Darkness knight. Such a thing was impossible to her, to know such peace on a field so destructive as this. In this moment, her heart began to race, pulse pounding in her ears as she tried to escape the lull of tranquility. No. This was not right. Gritting her teeth, she growled venomously, tearing through another Earth soldier in an attempt to hear their screams. Yet nothing answered. Not the sound of rending flesh. Not the sound of a deathly cry. Nothing.

It was maddening.

With a panicked screech, she went into a flurry, bodies beginning to fall faster about her. The woman carved a path through Dimitar’s army, begging to whatever God existed in this world to let this silence end! Please! For her sanity! Let it end! Let the rush of battle return to her senses and allow her to get lost in the adrenaline that threatened to override her mind!

Screaming now, Ophelia lunged forward, cutting down another squad and continued forward. Her path would lead her to Dimitar, the King himself. Their eyes locked for what seemed like eternity. Then she understood.

As he scowled, she gave him a pained look. Gods forbid...did she finally realize what was wrong with her? The madness was gone, Fawna was to thanks for such a thing. Perhaps now she wanted to finally cease the inconsistent battling and live a life she once dreamed of? Gritting her teeth once again, Ophelia dropped her weapons, earning a look of disbelief from the King, and smiled. “I am done with this war, Dimitar.” she whispered, finally giving into the childish dream she had been holding on to for so long.

But she knew that such sweet endings only existed in fairy tales told to children. When a blade pierced her back and protruded from her stomach, she realized that fact. Her magenta hues gazed down unsteadily to the blade and smiled, recognizing the make of the weapon. Her lips curled into a smirk and she exhaled one last time. “Finally...free.” Her last words were carried away by the wind, her mind falling into the blackness that took all soldiers from this world. Ophelia entered death’s embrace happily and for once in her life, she felt truly happy.

“May this war end without anymore casualties...”
